KM APS2 inner barrel with hop up
Hello, I was just wondering if the hop up unit that comes with the KM inner barrel for the APS2 SV is compatible with any other inner barrel and if so which ones? thanx

Okay, assuming this is the unit your looking at
Then I'd say no. When I took mine apart the "Fixed" hop up is actually a rubber nub IN the barrel itself. If you want to put a hop-up into your APSII SV with the ability to use any AEG barrel THIS is the product for you. PDI Adjustable Hop up for the APSII. Although, my advice from recently installing one, that little spring, throw it out. Drill a hole in the top of the barrel and thread it for a small screw to hold down the two levers above it. MUCH easier and you won't run into as many problems as I did before I got fed up with it. I know UNCompany and WGC are out of stock on the PDI Hop up, but Red wolf has em in stock. Guess I should have had my APSII SV upgrades here and not in Airsoft Media, anyway, linkie to what I've done with my APS II. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=37599 I was able to install a 550 6.03 inner barrel using this hop up. Oh, I also made the assumption this is a Maruzen APSII SV.

km aps2 sv inner barrel and hop up
Hey thanx for the info, however I'm not sure if one thing is true; I also took apart the hop up unit and what it is is a hole in the inner barrel and a rubber ring like tube covers the hole. A tiny black screw is then screwed into the unit to push down the rubber (covering the hole) into the barrel. I'm not sure if that is how the hop up unit works on the pdi adjustable but if it does, then I would think the the KM hop unit for APS2 SV should work for other KM inner barrels. I was just asking for confirmation because I already wasted a lot of money on products I don't neccessarily need. Thanx again -rory

The hop up and the new inner barrel has made my gun go from a 5 inch grouping at 16 ft, to a 7 inch grouping at 100 ft. Also, the biggest benifit to having an adjustable hop up over the fixed is you have more ammo choice.
As for other KM inner barrels fitting, its possible, but you'll have to find one that has the fixed hop up on it. Generally AEG barrels are the after market part of choice for upgrading with and always easier to find. An AEG barrel will have a slot cut at the top for an AEG rubber to work with it. Where as the fixed hop up barrel won't have this, it will be solid instead with just that little plastic nub. Also, next time you have a look at your hop up, look inside, and you'll see its like a BB, its round. The hop up from the PDI is flat straight across the top of the barrel. So you get an even spin on the bb every time, verses it catching the fixed just slightly off and getting a side spin to it. I'd still highly recommend the PDI unit personaly, but thats your choice too.

Hey I was also wondering if the length of the barrel depicted the accuracy of the rifle. Does a longer barrel make the gun more accurte in other words. thanx -Rory

Yes, a longer barrel can affect your accuracy. Generally speaking, a longer barrel will tighten your groupings. Also the bore can affect this as well as add slight increases to your range. The above is why again I suggested the PDI part, because it'd give you MUCH more choice in barrels. Most spring snipers I've seen that rank with the best are using a 510mm inner barrel ie. CAM24, which after proper upgrades would have to be the best rifle out there ((IMO)).
