Help stupid me, fix my stupid glock.
I bought a glock 34 sometime last year. I used it a number of times before the plastic slide cracked and started shooting right off the end of the gun.
I found a friend with a glock 17 slide and assumed I would be able to use this as a substitution for my broken 34 slide. I felt this was pretty reasonable since the 34 is the same as the 17 except for the extended slide/barrel. However I'm pretty new to airsoft, and because the metal slide and barrel have no internal parts(wasn't quite expecting that). I have no idea how to swap the internal pieces out of the old slide and into the new one, or even if I should do this at all. If anyone can help me do this I will post some pics. Otherwise I need help finding internal slide pieces hop-up/reciever/etc. Also the slide doesn't quite fit on the frame. I think I'm going to have to file it down some if I want it to to slide on smoothly. Thanks very much. |

Go see a local gun doctor, or even better since you are in Toronto; go see the ASCA guys?

KSC Glock, right? I'm pretty sure that on the G17/19/34, you simply have to unscrew the philips screw in the center/rear of the slide. It's pretty big and obvious. After that is out, the entire blowback chamber should slide up and out pretty easily. Make sure when you put it back in, you don't mangle up the springs sticking out the front.
*this is just an assumption. I'm used to dealing with select fire glocks, which have some extra steps to remove the selector switch first. **just checked this: http://www.wgcshop.com/gun-folder/ksc-g17-install.htm Looks like I was right? The screw I'm talking about is part 18. Getting the inner barrel/hopup assembly out is simple. Just pull them out of the metal outer barrel If you're subbing G34 internals into a G17 slide, I'm pretty sure that the inner barrel will extend out past the end of the outer barrel, and you will need to use a G17 recoil rod/spring as well, since the G34 one is probably too long. I'm not sure about the fit problem you're having. Have you tried polishing and lubing the slide rails?
