9.6V Battery in an M4 S-System
Does anyone know of a way to modify a TM M4 S-System so that a 9.6V battery can be fitted to have the AEG appear to be stock? The battery sits between the bottom of the outer barrel and the bottom half of the SIR; the outer barrel is recessed on the underside and it only appears to be long enough to fit an 8.4V mini. I’ve seen lots of shortened outer barrels for it but all appear to have the same restricting recess, and I’ve found none that claim to allow for a larger battery pack. Has anyone fitted a 9.6V battery to this AEG without the use of an AN/PEQ battery case or other external battery holder?

Can't help you, when I installed my S-system I wired the gun to the rear and installed a crane stock so I could use a 9.6v battery.

Yeah Russ, I did the same as medhatboy. This method allows distribution of the battery weight to the back so the gun is better balanced and clears out any unsightly AEG details that can be seen in the rail. In fact, if you have an interest, I was just preparing to sell the VLTOR clubfoot styled modstock (made by Star) that I had used for the purpose. If you want details, just drop me a PM.

If the gun is totally stock, you might be able to fit a AA Cell nunchuck in it, would be a very tight fit, I am not experienced with RIS or S System style to fit it in, but I have that battery for my M4 regular foregrip and it works. Just mine is upgraded so the battery isnt strong enough for AA cells, needs Sub C large pack.
