p90 piston question
i'm just wondering if i'll need to modify this piston to get it to work right with a ver 6 gearbox
i believe this ver 6 piston has one less tooth at the end. but does it make a difference in my p90? |

IRC, V6 pistons are the same as V2/3.
I'd say that the pic of the second piston is a pic of a defective piston. That tooth is pretty important. It's the second pickup tooth. If it's missing you wouldn't get very far.

Carl, I've modified several bone stock P90s and all of them have that tooth missing on the Marui piston. That area1000 piston is definitely not a defect, as they also carried that design in to their red piston:
http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=3746 I've been using that red piston in my P90 for 4 years now... so far no problems. To answer the original question, I've used a regular v2/3 piston in v6 gearboxes in most of the upgrades I've done without ever removing that tooth and I've never heard of any problems in doing so.
