G3 SG1 lenght reduction
is there any possible way to make an SG1 smaller ?? If I get one , I dont want it to be a sniper platform , and other versions of the G3 are now unavailable. Maybe buying a G3SAS , put on a stock and thus , making it look more like an assault rifle ?
what do you guys think |

I'm not sure what you want exactly, because you say you want a shorter SG-1, but a regular G3 would be ok. Well, like I said, they are both the same length. So if you still want something shorter, then that CA G3 should be pretty sweet.

This link the the EAR site shows a G3 SAS with the full stock
http://www.edmontonairsoft.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5 Personally, I would go for the new M41fs from C.A.. It's a sexy beast.

Or pick a different gun? It may be less expensive to switch models than to modify a prefectly good rifle.

well , I always liked the G3 series and the G36c doesn't really attract me.
Ghost Snake , you told me they are the same lenght huh ? well , I did my search and found that you're right. So I guess ill just take out the Bipod and cheekpiece , put a RDS , metal body and RIS will come after some time. thanks for infos Edit : I heard it squeeks a LOT , what's your opinion ? Would a RIS be the cure ? |

Easiest way would be to pick up a TM or CA metal cocking tube for an MC51, add an MC51 foregrip and RIS, and an MC51 outer + inner barrel. Done.

thanks for infos. I think I'll just keep his sixe like that , remove the cheekpiece and bipod and just mount an RDS , add an RIS and metal body.
I'm a big guy so having a big gun isn't such a big deal. I think I'll be able to manoeuver it for CQB also. |

g3k
Try the CA g33 front end on on the newly released SAS. The real G3k uses the front off the HK 53 on the base G3 receiver. It is between the mc51 and the sg1 in length.
It has more range ths the mc 51 and is easier to swing the shoter barrel around in the brsuh and trees. One small point, the SAS has the select fire control like that of the MP5, not the standard G3, going from the mp5 to the sg1 style selector still trips me up in some skirmishes, now I NEVER take my gun off full auto, never. My safety is my finger. An d now it never comes off the trigger. |

I just sold an TM MC51, which is basically a shortened G3 with a retractable stock. You might want to look into that.
