Couple other questions regarding the FAMAS that havent really been answered yet.
But is there any way to get rid of the top handgrip? Is there any way to strengthen the plastic frame with metal? And couldnt you just replace all its internal workings with newer gun model workings? Like maybe the M4 parts would fit? |

This gun does work well , no need to replace internals if they don't break. You can cut the top handle with whatever comes to your mind. Search on google , several persons did it and replaced it by a G36c one. no need to strenghten the frame , if you want it to stop making noise , search on this forum , there's a way to cheaply stop the noise.

Even Replacement parts are hard to find.No point to repalce them if they work well in stock form.(they should last for a very long time if you don't touch them) As far as i know. There is no way to strengthen the plastic frame with metal. You could try to figure it out by yourself when you have the gun in your hands. I mean it is possible if you really want to do it.when there is a will, there is a way.You could probably have someone custom made some metal parts for you. However, that would end up cost more than the gun itself. I'd rather spend the money to buy another gun. anyways, your money, your gun,you made the decision. just my 2 cents .

Yeah, the FAMAS was TM first true, working AEG. I have a friend who plays at a field, and he says they have had many FAMAS(es) there for rent for 8-10 years or so. They are tuff and can take a beating, even the n00bs would use them, and they even survived that. They are still running on that field with OEM parts. But like everyone else is saying the internals are getting harder to find. The body is all plastic which is a no no for me. As the G36 is also plastic but it is a different material I belive. But in the Real-World the G36 is really made of composite material, so I dont mind the fact it is plastic. If I were you I would buy a newer AEG, like you were saying you liked the G36. It will be way more cheaper if you break it or want to upgrade it. Plus it is more modern. (ex. the 20mm rails, looks, the ver. 3 gearbox). The G36 is a very good choice and that should be all that you need to get started.
