Systema Complete Mechbox

Hey guys, I was thinking of yanking out my SRC mechbox (M16A3) and droping in a complete Systema Mechbox kit. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

They won't go in pre-2005 G&G guns. Fits just perfect in C.A. metal bodies though. That's my experience.

The M120 version for M4 with integral switch shoots 390-400 fps in a CQB M4. Perfect for the indoor games.

390-400 for a CQB game is just perfect?

I have the systema M120 box and i am shooting at roughly 375ish fps. The box doesn't fit into a systema body (odd eh?) without sanding the inside of the upper reciever. The box itself is a bit wider than a TM and no doubt SRC. Also, i tried to put my systema box into my SRC and i just couldn't make it work. It was so godamn tight and i was only able to get the upper reciever on about 1/4 of the way. Some sanding is required.

Have fun... :-)

*Note- the systema box fits into G&P bodies EXTREMELY nice...

I guess I'm going to be making a total hybrid gun then...G&P body, Systema M120 box, SRC metal full length outer barrel, metal full length M16 RAS, Promethus 509mm 6.03. Oh man this is going to be sweet. Thanks for your reply.

Well, to give you an Idea, here's what I'm currently in the middle of:

SRC Crane stock RIS M4 - $250
take it apart, keeping the front end, stock, and mounting hardware.

replace SRC plastic body and internals with:
Guarder C8 metal body - $270
Systema M120 complete mechbox - $400
Prometheus 6.03mm inner barrel for M4 - $60

As Mcguyver, Grim, Dozer and others have said, the exterior build of the gun is very impressive for the price (metal version). It is VERY sturdy, as much so if not more than my G&P. The mechbox is reinforced and has metal bushings. The cylinder and piston head are junk. The gears are very similar to TM, but not quite as good. The motor seems to be identical to an EG1000 (on the newest version of the M16A3 anyway). I pulled it out and, as Mcguyver pointed out awhile back, it is 100% identical. I then replaced it with an EG1000 and there was no discernable difference. So bottom line, replace a few parts (which you'd probably want to upgrade on a TM anyways) and you've got a pretty solid and metal AEG. Makes an excellent starter gun since it's so cheap and gives you something to build on. The outer parts (stock, receiver, barrel, etc.) are very good. I'm going to use them, as Dozer has, to create my main Systema-based AEG.

Yeah, SRC makes a mean full metal gun. You may want to cut off both metal body tabs. Mine got snagged quite badly on the selector switch part on the mechbox. Again, systema decided to make it's selector-ma-bob bulky. Once the tabs are filed down a bit or trimmed off, there shouldnt be much of a problem with the exception of sanding. Tabs serve zero purpose with metal bodies anyway. It's not like a plastic body that can bend over the cylinder and fly off. I take off the tabs and file down the area when installing metal bodies (IF) it decides to be bitchy.
