pvg 14 purge?

pvg 14 purge?

Hello
does any 1 offer this service? i dissembled my nvg and realized that I lost the purge, is this self do-able or needs a professional to purge it?

You don't really need to have it purged. Just make sure you don't get random shit inside and assemble it in a dry environment.

what is the humidity in your basement? if your in Calgary your probably good if your in downtown Victoria your probably not

The most important thing is to do it in as low humidity environment as possible. You want 0% ideally, which is hard to get unless you can get access to a place with a really good HVAC system.

Purging isn't super important because it'll leak out of the scope in less than a year anyways. Odds are your 14 might have already lost it's nitrogen. Old school dudes used to put a small desiccant inside the unit to ensure any and all humidity will get taken out.

guys, i read online that people use duster gas to keep the moisture out via the purge port, is duster gas safe in the unit? since I have no idea where to get a small can of nitrogen, can i use Tetrafluoroethane or Difluoroethane?
