PROGRESS:

Yes, it is a bit of overkill, and the drilling may actually come back to bite me in the ass but I am confident.

Tomorrow will be the final day of curing before I experiment with a stress test.

The Kriss Vector weighs at a whopping 6 pounds and broke when it fell on itself. Therefore, I will be using a 5 lb weight to simulate that same force accelerating at -9.8m^2. This does not take into consideration torque. Video soooon.

Not bad, I have a suggestion. If you dont care about how the gun looks, you could use some abs plastic and JD weld that to the side of the gun.
For instance in the second pic in your last post. Where there is a large seam of JB weld, you could add some jd weld some abs to psudo join the receiver and broken piece.

Or if you want to fabri-cobble something more, after jb welding some abs to the side, you could drill some small holes and use some cut off nails to pin the pieces together.
This would look ass ugly but could work.

I used this method with a CA Aug a while back, where the mag well was broken.

Sorry, I know I am not being very articulate right now.

NP.

I think it's fixed. I have no idea about the longevity though. By the way I may have messed with your sight so i don't know where it was placed before hand.

I didn't do a stress test at Estrela's request but I did have to use some empirical data to demonstrate that it has been restored to good form. Originally I was going to hang the 5 pound weight on the stock for 5 minutes but I think i'll just settle for a quick tolerance test to make sure it didn't fail.

Upper receiver is not available. Had a teammate do the same break at the same place. He had to buy a boneyard and strip her. Glad it got fixed, fingers crossed

If your friend wants 2 working Kwa vectors he can do a similar repair to mine. It's an easy fix

Is that a common weakness on a Vector? I have dropped and banged into corners with mine several times and hate to break mine.

It's all in the place where the stress is placed and the torque from the impact. Estrela's broke because it fell with the stock open at a critical spot and all the stress went into that little square that I had to patch back in.

If you dropped it elsewhere it wouldn't be a problem, but Estrela and I both identified there's a vulnerability with not enough material in the square hole where it folds in that is hollow which would prevent it from breaking.

There's very little preventative upgrades you can do to stop this from breaking except being more careful not to drop it.

BTW the real steel Kriss Vector and other folding stocks break just like this as well. So imagine a toy like an airsoft gun and it's shitty material going through the same stress.

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the old Vector. Hopefully, the JB weld will provide longevity
