Updated real sword AK's (and AKs in general)
I know the real sword came out in 2008 or longer. Are they planning on updating this gun? Or has a gun come out recently which rivals the quality?
I dont mind the price point I just want a great AK. Only worried that the gun is old at this point. Is there anything more recent that is comparable? Thanks for your help. |

The three big ones are E&L, LCT and Real Sword. RS is still the only sized 1/1 with the real thing, but both E&L and LCT are trailing in the externals department, perhaps E&L slightly more than LCT.
Among the three RS probably has the most basic internals, E&L starting with the best but being difficult to work on and upgrade. LCT is the favourite for actually building on. Of the three I would recommend LCT do to the many verities of AK they sell, and the fact that they are easy to build on and work with. Without holding the three in hand I'm not sure if one would actually notice a difference in external quality, as they are all very well built. |

Ty for reply. So I guess if something isnt broke they dont fix it eh. I would think another company or even real sword would come up with a new model but hey. I assume they just keep making new type 56s

I'm not entirely sure what Real Sword's status as a company is.... either the next batch of AEG's is taking its sweet ass time to finish... or what? AFAIK you can still order their products directly from them. I owned their 56-1 3-4 years ago and I have their 56-2 currently... excellent guns!

I also have a 56-2
The thing about all these companies is that even if the stock internals are meh (read: like all stock guns) they can still be made to shoot great. You can't really go wrong with any of these brands. There's also VFC which I forgot, which produces a great AK. OP, do you know what kind of AK you want to build? With RS you're kind of stuck with a very specific Chinese made Type 56 |

I own both. Both are good I would recommend LCT... But RS external quality is top notch in terms of ak aegs.

I am now learning that real sword cannot be upgraded really due to no side rail to mount scopes etc. this is a plus for the LCT...

You can overcome that by just getting a real steel rail system for it.

No one touched on this.
Real Sword builds Chinese 7.62 pattern AKs. If you're looking for Soviet/or Com Bloc patterns/5.45 types you have to go elsewhere.
