I ran my PGC with 150% recoil spring and it destroyed my PGC barrel so I had to swap over to a Guarder one but the fit is not nearly as nice.

I am glad to know I am not the only one who had problems with the PGC kit's frame stripping out. I thought I was a moron and not gentile enough with that tiny screw...
Well...
You just answered your own question right there...

So I'm just going to expand on it a little bit.

1). Preservation

Like any other barrel, the PRIME Salient Arms barrel is not immune to wearing on the chamber's finish. It does go through the typical paint wear.

2). Weight

This is why I have a spare P226 stainless barrel. Being made of steel, they weigh almost double that of the PRIME aluminum barrels. Most of my pistols weigh as much as they possibly can.

I modified it (the Guarder barrel) so that it does not impede the action and function in any way. In fact, it's smoother than the PRIME barrel. I also made it so that the chamber clears the slide thereby reducing the paint wear mentioned above to virtually zero.

3). Muzzle Accessory

Let's face it.
Suppressors are a big draw to people who into "tacti-cool" pistols. It does look pretty cool on a SAI unit.

Or maybe you want a suppressor to hide a longer inner barrel?

Unless you are willing to thread the PRIME SAI barrel, you'll have to invest in a different barrel...

willing to perform services in a dark alley that may or may not leave you satisfied for a title. GFE = 1, looks = 2, BBFS for an extra $50.

E can you tell me exactly what work you did to your guarder barrel?? Maybe if it is not too much to ask a photo of the changes... As my guarder barrel does not work nearly as smoothly as my original PGC barrel.
