How do I go about hosting a private game?

Hey people,

So I have a few questions about how airsoft games are hosted. I assume I can't call the city and ask for my friends and I to play airsoft in a small field that belongs to the city. So,... who owns these little fields people play on? Who runs the games? Can anyone run a game somewhere?

I'm fresh to all this so a basic response would be really appreciated!

Thanks

You should probably list where you're from (or put it in your profile so it shows up

He's in Ontario, saw his post on newbie section.

There's a bunch of games listed here; one being "waterdown" not to far from sauga, maybe 20-30 minute drive west, good crowd, I'd check it out.

Else you can hit up Ultimate Airsoft at keele and finch, or Siege Airsoft @ 401 and Kennedy RD.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I should have made myself a bit clearer, I'm interested in knowing how games get hosted. Let's say someone like me wanted to host my own game on land that I do not own, how would I do it?

Don't know the details, but I would suspect be like this:

You would need to contact the land owner, and tell them what you want to do. Pay them set fee etc, have a plan for insurance and liability covered for both parties.

Then you would have to look at the city by-laws and see if it's legal for this kind of activity.

Then you would have to contact the local police dept. to inform them of your activities and have them come check out the field. (If it's to close to residential areas, I highly doubt it'll be ok.)

You need access to a field, there are several fields within an hour of the GTA.

Often field owners will permit individuals to host events at their field.

Finch Field, Longstone field ( both near Guelph ) permit people to host events at their fields.

Usually you need to have a minimum participation to cover the basic costs of the field. ( usually 20 or so people)

Then you need to design , promote and then organize and execute the event.
