Am I crazy?
Got a package in today. I ordered a "Colt MK18 MOD 1" made by VFC (this is the retailers item description). The photo on the website was one sided, and did not show the trademark side.
I was very disappointed when I opened it up to find not the Colt licensed lower with the nice trades, but the white VFC marked lower (guilty, I'm a trade whore). To my mind, there is nothing "Colt" about this. I'm not satisfied and I would like to return it, but there's not a chance in hell that I'm paying restocking fees, plus return shipping. These are just sample photos, but I think you'll get the idea. Here is what I thought I was ordering; And here is what I got; I don't want to be a schmuck, but... Am I crazy? |

It seems I am not crazy, nor am I the only one this has happened too.
Some have pointed out that the Colt traded Mk18 is a DX model. Well the URL of the page I ordered it off of goes like this; https://(retailer).com/product/colt-mk18-mod-1-fde-dx/ I've emailed and will give the retailer the opportunity to correct the problem, because this seems more and more like switcheroo to me. |

Mach1airsoft, buyer beware
Continuing from here; http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=164437
According to Mach1airsoft, I'm free to return to gun on my own dime and am subject to the 15% restocking fee. Even though I was told; - they did everything right - the item description and was accurate and not misleading - I should have contacted them first to inquire about the item - they feel it isn't necessary They are going to go ahead and change the item description removing the word "Colt" in order to "AVOID FUTURE CONFUSION" which to me suggests that there could be confusion about what was there in the first place (and there obviously was). If there was really "nothing to see here" then why change the description? I think this merits consideration to waive or reduce the restocking fee, but no. Mach1 has a number of other VFC products from the Colt and Knights lines, but do not buy expecting "properly" trademarked receivers. That's the last $100 mistake I'll be making with Mach1. |

Hi Brock, I just went to the Mach 1 page and saw this
http://mach1airsoft.com/?s=colt&post_type=product The other two similarly titled Colt products show the VFC trades side and the Colt Trades Receiver is available separately for $70 bucks. I'm not sure what you were expecting or what the process was? Were you thinking that 1 of the three would come with a free upgrade? Were you excited get a new toy and did not fully investigate what exactly you were buying? |

No, I did not compare this item with the other colt items on the site. You searched Colt, I searched Mk 18 and the item (that has now been renamed) popped up. It was until after this all went down I went back and looked at the other products.
No I do not expect free upgrades. As I was pondering whether or not to purchase the item, I read/watched every review I could find, compared prices with other websites. It quickly became clear that there were 2 VFC Mark 18 variants - one with colt trades, and one with VFC trades. The only MK 18 with VFC trades I could find for sale ANYWHERE on the internet, does not have the tan low profile front sight, as well as a different rear sight. It is also not called "Colt MK 18 Mod 1" because it has no COLT markings. The one I got is apparently a 3rd variant, one with correct sites but also did not have any COLT markings (same for those you pointed out) so the COLT description is misleading. I'm not trying to argue whether or not I should have asked, because clearly I should have and this is my fault, I'm just trying to point out that I think it would be a reasonably easy mistake to make given the description and thus some consideration in coughing up a fair chunk of change for a restock fee. |

Further, what would expect to get when you order this;
http://mach1airsoft.com/product/colt-m4-ris-std-sopmod/ or this https://mach1airsoft.com/product/vfc-colt-m4a1-std/ or these for that matter, https://mach1airsoft.com/product/sr16-cqb-carbine/ https://mach1airsoft.com/product/vfc...qb-carbine-tn/ All products from VFCs line of licensed Colt and KAC guns. Should I assume that I'm not going to get the licensed material that VFC paid for? If not how would those be any different from the VFC e-series that generally run cheaper because they have no legit trademarks??? |

Wow, not often am I blown away positive retailer reaction, but Mach1 went over and above to resolve this issue.
I could not be any more satisfied, Mach1 proved themselves to be a class act all the way. Far and away have earned my return business and I will be purchasing from them again. Thank you Mach 1! |
