Airsofting in rain (I know)
Hey guys i will be heading out to a 24 hour game but i had never played airsoft in the rain before, let alone a full 24 hour game. What do you guys suggest to bring withh me to ensure i keep my AEG safe aswell as my GBB
Thanks |

AEG's generally don't give a shit about rain. I've played in pouring rain before. Just give it a wipe down after, and if you really want to open it up and check the exterior of the mechbox and interior of the gun body. It's not salt water.
GBBR's would be similar to AEG's, rain doesn't matter at all for them. I've seen many Systema PTW's go down because of the rain, however. |

Nothing really. A towel to dry it up if it's pooring like crazy. A spare battery too.
I'd be more worried about you and the 24h part. Most people don't know how to dress for a simple 8h game. Living for 24h in the rain, with no commodities require some preparation. Our team during a 24h winter patrol. Of the 10 guys present, 2 started to get hypotermia because of sweat and bad clothing. It was funky wether, but at in the rain at night, you will experience the same effect as in winter. You need to stay dry and warm and it's hard if you don't have the proper clothing. Look at all the gear required.

plate carrier, thermal shirt and a softshell jacket, that combo saves lives.
I'm a small guy and I survived many 5 degree sleeps outside and 60mm of rain because of that combo. |

raincoat and pants... failing that, a garbage bag poncho if you're really hard up.
nightfall 1 I had no rain gear but I did have a thermal layer if it wasn't for that I think I would've been pretty miserable. I think though it's still summer enough that you don't need a thermal layer, but have some extra layers in case it does get cool. Leave them in the car and get them when you need them if you have a break in action. It's not when you are moving when the nasties set it, it's when you sit down to rest.

Ask any of the boys from hill 437. Pouring rain, hail, and gale force wind can't stop an airsoft game.
