Guarder internals
Guarder internals, are they good, bad, pretty, ugly? I haven't really heard many people talking about them and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing?
Any reviews, input, ideas or comments would help. I'm planning on turning my Lonex M4 into a DMR and Guarder internals are easily available(They're at my local store) but I haven't heard anyone talk about them. You can talk about any of the internals: The springs, TBB's, Motors, etc. |

I use Guarder stuff because it was easily available and somewhat reasonably priced. I'd say with the Lonex it's probably better to keep it as it is. BTW although I do have a Guarder 6.02 tightbore I would recommend if it's easily available to get something like a Prometheus 6.03 even though it's a lot more. Even though it's an upgrade (compared to my stock 6.08) I'm somewhat happy with it but I know there's better out there, plus the 6.02 is very tight and you could jam (also, for accuracy according to someone I was talking to 6.03 was better than 6.01 and the 6.01 is only to get a tight seal so you can get higher FPS, but then again you could just as easily do a spring change to get the same effect).
BTW if you need a 20" M4 Outer barrel for your DMR project I've got one, check the classifieds for my thread for more info.

My experience with Lonex hasn't been that great. I bought the drop in gearbox and the plastic teeth of the piston stripped after a couple test shots. Before that my friend had some Lonex gears strip after 50 shots with perfect shimming. I do like there barrels a lot. I'm awaiting an A1 motor and I'm curious to see how it lasts.

Were talking about guarder, not lonex. Side note my fpS dropped from 390 new to 365-3y
70...is that normal? |

I have Guarder FTK in my RPK since about 05-06. Still running. FPS dropped some but otherwise all parts were still fine last time I cleaned the box.
P.S I remember doing some very minor filing of the mechbox shell before it closed properly. It's a TM shell.

They're decent enough, I don't trust their piston and piston head though. And I've heard nothing but problems with their gears, but that's hearsay from 6 years ago...
Also AOE needs to be corrected when using their double O-ring cylinder head otherwise you're pretty well guaranteed to strip the piston. All around guarder as a company has never been particularly good at making airsoft parts, they've always just been okay, 4/10 |

I had a guarder PH fracture after an unknown number of shots... came to me used. I put in about 8k rounds on it.
Their springs aren't bad, but I also had one drop from 405 to 350. I have a guarder infinite torque up motor as well... it seems to be a reasonable motor... not worth the price with shs and lonex motors being cheaper, especially since at the price the guarder motor is at, it's still only a ferrous motor. I have not had a set of shs gears strip on me yet, though I think I lucked out with good bevels on both sets I have. lonex gears are known to be on the soft side.

Oh right, their springs are notorious for being packaged incorrectly. Was a huge thing back in the day, guarder never sent you the right spring.
It's like they have all their springs land in one big bin and the only method used for sorting is testing them by hand lol |

Wow, I'm surprised to hear so many bad things about Guarder. I've been using their enhancement kit in all my guns for 3 years now, but I guess only time would tell.
It's true that they need AoE adjustments. Somewhere between 3/16" to 1/4" including neoprene pad. |
