Importing Parts into Canada
I've been searching through threads on information about importing parts into Canada, but can't find a straight answer. I know you can't import full size guns and stuff, but my question is: Can I import airsoft parts? I don't just mean internals like small pieces like triggers, etc.
I want to buy a metal slide for a pistol for an upgrade. Will that get seized or confiscated? I will order it if it's 100% that it will pass, but even if there's a slight chance that it will not go through, I don't want to risk it. I wanted to order the metal slide from UNCompany by the way. Thanks in advance. |

Parts yes.
Metal slides, bodies, frames, no. Rifles, GBBs, M203's no. There are a number of importers here on the boards to meet your needs. *Edit: This is from the "frequently asked questions" section of the board; http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=40318 Recommended reading, cheers |

Would I be able to get a silencer/barrel extension through the border?
(I want to buy a scope, barrel extension and Russian Style Side mount for scope from like ehobby asia or ebaybanned. I hope they can make it through.)

Silencers are generally more difficult to self-import, I've heard of problems and delays in getting them through, just because the real silencer (ie, any object capable of suppressing the sound produced by a firearm, replica or not) is ILLEGAL in Canada and thus cannot be imported. However, often enough, airsoft silencers, which are in fact toys, usually get through if the CBSA look at it.
That being said, the relative risk of seizure isn't as high as say if you try to import a lower metal receiver, but of course with any airsoft replicated stuff, the risk is there. My advice? Get your other stuff from ebaybanned, they are fine, but look to a retailer (I know airsoftparts.ca is a UNCompany retailer in Canada) to get your silencer if you aren't 100% sure on getting it yourself. |

Alright, thanks Stealthy.
And by all that I take it that everything else I need will come through fine. Awesome.

Slides:
You will not have a problem importing a slide. A slide of a real firearm, let alone an airsoft gun, is not in itself a prohibited or restricted part and does NOT require any kind of permits to import. This is spelled out in the D-memorandum D19-13-2, which is one of dozens of regulation sources which the CBSA Officers reference regularly. Even if confused with slide for a real pistol, it is not illegal to import a slide into Canada if properly declared. Receivers: The D-Memo D19-13-2 (http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publicati...9-13-2-eng.pdf) defines a firearm as: "a barrelled weapon from which any shot, bullet, or other projectile can be discharged and that is capable of causing serious bodily injury or death to a person, and includes any frame or receiver of such a barrelled weapon and anything that can be adapted for use as a firearm." (Page 5, right hand side). This is where all the trouble comes from for importing receivers. ================== Just a word on the CBSA D-Memoranda. The D-Memos compile information from numerous Acts of Parliament into a single document that puts it all into the "import/export" context.[/B] The D-Memo referenced above, for example, presents info out of the Criminal Code, the Firearms Act, as well as the Export and Import Permits Act, while D-Memos pertaining to import/export of agricultural products may reference acts such as The Health of Plants and Animals Act. ================= Back to Airsoft parts and accessories, though! The Customs Tariff 9898.00.00 is also used to help with the determination of "prohibited devices". Feel free to read through it here on page 1757 of the PDF document to find out what's prohibited for import and what's not http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/trade-com...-01-99-eng.pdf. Only slides that MAY be an issue are slides for automatic guns (as the real auto ones are prohibited)
Only things you are 100% not allowed are receivers(section with the serial number on real one), pistol frames (lower part) and barrels below a certain length (though very few are shorter than this) Silencers, mags with fake bullets and all those other things people say are illegal to import are in fact legal... you just have to dispute it when cbsa seizes it and eventually get it a few months (or years) down the road. |

No problem with mags. There might be, however, a problem with mags showing fake bullets (G36, Sig, P90 mags...)

I'm looking to pick up one of evike's full slide sets for the WE 1911 line. They are essentially the full upper half of the 1911, with the outer and inner barrel, spring guide, recoil spring and hopup. I was considering getting 2 slide sets, one with a 3.8" and one with a 5.1" barrel.
I read that the prohibited barrel length for a real handgun was below 110mm. So the 3.8" is a no go, but I could just order the full length slide set straight from evike without fear of it getting seized? |
