E1 is a US rebranding company. The OEM I believe is JG or CYMA (some people have said E1 does a second QC check once the guns hit stateside plus some other "value added" stuff but I can't guarantee that's what they do). As for the quality, it's a good first foray into airsoft, the other brands you could pick just thinking off the top of my head include JG, CYMA, King Arms. IMO King Arms is one of the better ones to go with but TBH at that price point you're pretty much just getting the same thing under a different name brand (ie. there's almost no difference between say like a Corolla or Civic or Fiesta or Neon or Cavalier or whatever different brandnames, slightly different specs, generally in the same price bracket, etc.).

I used a 11'1 lipo in my E1 Wolverine (AK74) for over 20 games before I stripped the piston. When we opened the gear box the gears where stamped APS. So the AK74 is APS with a crappy Echo1 battery and charger that didn't work. Great starter gun that can be upgraded if needed over time.

Get the King Arms M4 instead. I believe the ST6 has a polymer reciever, whereas the full metal King Arms M4 has a metal reciever that won't break when you fall on your AEG.
