British Flags on Uniform?
So I recently purchased this-
(The Union Flag Version) I'm fairly certain the actual British army doesn't wear that exact type, but I am curious as to where they would wear them. I have searched around, but I still can't be sure. Is it just on one arm? The left or right one? Whereabouts? Smock? Shirt? Both? I know it won't be exact because the flags different to what the British army use (I'm fairly certain at least), but I also figure that because its different some people won't find it offensive? I have reason to believe that it is on the left arm? Thanks in advance. Last edited by TacWolf; May 31st, 2011 at 12:20.. Reason: Added something. |

All the current pics I have seen the Union Jack is placed on the left arm on the velcro, and their unit patch is on the right arm in regards to their combats.

No one will get mad if you wear the proper flags it is when people wear badges and patches they didn't earn that current and past serving members of the armed forces get mad.

Interesting that I just found this,
I'm not quite sure how 'real' that is, might just be impersonators. Everything else though, supports the fact that the flag is worn on the left arm. Thanks also Brit ter, it was my intention to sew them on. |

I bought a Desert DPM jacket a few weeks back, it had the Union Jack sewn onto the left arm. All the DPM jackets in the store had them on like that, so I'd assume flag on left arm is safe.

Sewn into the left arm on smock and shirt. Might edit with photo's later if anyone's interested.
Thanks for all your help.
