First Sniper Load out
So I have AEG's, GBB's and even a gas shotgun. Since I like to try different playing styles I want to get a bolt action rifle.
Very briefly I had a Well L96 which was not upgraded. I quickly got rid of it after I realized the trouble I would have upgrading to a halfway decent rifle. That being said I am looking for a VSR10/M24/M700. I have read reviews on all of them and understand the need to upgrade the rifle to make a decent. But I have not been able to figure what rifle I should get. So in terms of Value vs Performance what should I be looking for? Is there any benefit getting something other than the VSR10/M24/M700? The long and the short of it is I am looking for a Gas or Bolt Action sniper rifle. Thanks. |

I would start with an Echo1 M28 no upgrades needed and performs really well outa the box. and all for under 400$ see how you like the sniper roll and then decide if you would like to upgrade parts and stuff as far as long term reliability i cannot comment as it just came out this year and it does have a couple issues that all have easy fixes. This is just my opinion as a sniper all i can say is i wish i had this gun when i started it woulda saved me alot a cash. Now that being said it is not a 1200$ upgraded CA M24 either but it does get the job done.

I thought the tolerances in china clone guns where really bad, making consistency in shots poor.
Or is the echo 1 m28 just that good? VS the Bar-10/other clones how does it stack up? As an aside I make a pretty good wage, a 1000$ rifle isn't out of the question for me. |

if money is no option then contact Amos and have him build you a pimped out VSR As for the Echo1 M28 its a good gun for the price, same with there ASR model. I love my ASR and for the price after the upgrades I did I think I am well ahead of the game.

As a follow up, why not get an M24 or L96 or model other than the VSR10? |

The vsr-10 has the most aftermarket parts as far as I know. Also, the hopup is superior to the others. After all, it is a marui.
$1000 will get you virtually all the upgrades. The biggest "blocks" will be a new trigger mech (depending on how hot you want to run it) and the barrel. The rest are smaller purchases, probably around 30-50$. Also, you'll probably want a new cylinder in addition to the other performance upgrades. It makes life easy. Finally, I believe the consensus is that PDI performs better than laylax upgrades, but I went the laylax route and am very happy. |

Power doesn't mean anything to me. I want accuracy and consistency. The field I play in, I would be lucky to need to make a 150+ shot. There are occasions where the extra distance is useful however.
We frequently play in forest and bush settings, I need to be able to thread the needle through trees and branches, something my stable of AEG's can't do. |
