Can this be upgraded?

I new to airsoft and I currently have a Crosman Pulse R76, clear, and was wondering if it was upgradable. Such as changing the gear box. And what kinda of mags are compatible with the gun because I would like to pick one or 2 more.

IMHO it is not worth it. It will cost you more money than it is worth so you may as well use it for spare parts, if that. Get AV'd and you will have access to all of the sweet stuff. If you are not of age, save your money until you are 18 and then you will have some dough to throw around!

I'm trying right now to get a.v'd , getting good guns is not a problem. I was just wondering, though if I do go to the competitions i will definitely spend the $300-$400 for an ok gun.

You would've been better off not buying that to begin with. The pricetag on the gun, gear and everything else WILL add up.

See if you can return it to the store, thats the best you could do. Well, that if you want to play airsoft competitevly.

Funny cause I got one of these from someone as a gift, they used it for 2 seasons on the local field then passed it to me.

Still shoots 360 and no issues with it (although I have not gamed it myself) but for what it is I will say its not bad if you can pick it up dirst cheap and not at Canadian Tires retail price.

For upgrades its a standard V3, so if you really want to dump money into it then just get a V3 drop in mechbox and do that.

I was thinking of doing this just so I can say "yep crosman just got you" lol

Then again this will not be a goto gun for me so I can do this slowly when deals come up.

If this is your first and only gun I would suggest playing with it stock and saving ever penny you can to save for a better gun

Thanks for the advice VooDooPetek, for right now it does what i want and i got it at an ok price, $130 with taxes. But you are right they do shoot well and IF I get into the competitions I will probably buy a new gun.

No such thing as competitions in Canada.

It's been tried in HK and the Philippines I believe but seriously it's kind of retarded.

There are however large milsims. They're not "competitions" but just really large games with a large turnout (200+ players).

The easiest upgrade would be to buy a drop in gearbox like the Action V3 gearbox and replace the stock gearbox. Note that it may get seized (as a "receiver") but since it's not prohibited it will get released if you contest the seizure.

Either that or if you're feeling a bit ambitious get a Modify FTK for V3 gearbox.

Worlds better, but still there are even BETTER options for a small jump up in price.

Crosman is pretty much the bottom of 'quality' out there aside from some of their products (Such as their TM clone shotgun),

I've got a pulse R76 with an old cyma V3 gearbox in it... it's fun.. basically had a bunch of spare parts, so threw it together. one of the comfiest AK's I've ever held ...

this particular R76 lasted 2 seasons of outdoors, did okay... finally just stopped working. for the cost, there are online retailers that for not much more then a full price R76 and a gearbox... will get you a WAY better gun.
