Javelin M24 report

Okay, so I finished completely fine-tuning my Javelin Gun Works M24 (JGW m24).

*Out of the box*

Tested in a large warehouse with no wind. Distance to target: 75ft

Scope:Bushnell sportsman 3-9x32mm
BB's: 0.28g

Results:

Out of the box, it gradually became inaccurate as many have complained. BB's would begin to hook to the right ~55 ft out. Re-fitted the bucking and the problem was temporarily solved. In addition, the trigger
"stages" upon being pulled (not 100% smooth/gradual). Instead, there was play in the finger sear before it hit the middle (long) sear. Also, the cylinder "butt" or "tail" was loose, causing play in the bolt handle. Furthermore, Hop-up adjustment was loose and fickle.


Took her home for modding and further testing.

*Modded*

Mods:

Teflon mod:
- on inner-barrel tip to reduce barrel play and increase accuracy
- around hopup bucking to ensure an airtight seal, and tight fit in hopup chamber for increased accuracy (and theoretical increase in velocity)
- on the piston head threads

Other:
- Modified trigger. Trigger lever sear modified with a dab of JB weld to minimize trigger "staging" or "play".
-Loctite BLUE applied to the screw that fastens the bolt to the cylinder butt.
-Applied JB weld in the small gap between Cylinder "tail" and cylinder.

About 50 shots fired in a series of 5 shot groups. Every shot was aimed at the serie's first.
Indoors, Distance to target was 20 feet.

Results:
1 in 5 shots would be a direct hit or bullseye on the serie's first bullet hole.
2 in 5 shots would hit 1-2 centimeters away from serie's first bullet hole.
1 in 5 shots would hit 2-3 centimeters away from serie's first bullet hole.
1 in 5 shots would hit 3-4 centimeters away from serie's first bullet hole.


Conclusion:
My main concern at this point is the rifle's accuracy. At 20 feet, wouldn't a sniper rifle shooting .28gBBs at over 400fps shoot bullseye's 80% of the time? Or are my expectations too high for an airsoft sniper rifle?
I would like to hear your feedback.


- Eventually, a metal piston and spring guide will be installed for increased durability and later on, a stronger spring for power. Stay tuned for that test & pictures

I have a TSD VSR10 Stock no mods or upgrades I also just purchased a Echo1 M28 stock exccept the spring has been reduces to shoot 480 FPS and both can hit a 5 inch taget " Hard drive Plates" at 100ft Verified with measuring tape 8 outa 10 times at least so what your getting is less than par I would look alot closer towards the hopup and up your ammo weight to at least .30's and try bastards they are the most reliable and consistant bb out there trust me i have tried alot Bastards are best for sniper rifles PERIOD!

Also this test was done inside a wearhouse as well not outside and the reason i mentioned the 2 rifles is that 1 is a little less $$ and the other is a Little more $$.

You should expect to hit a Gatoraid bottle at 100 fts pretty concistently.
If you can't do that, your rifle is not "sniper grade".

If you cant hit a Pepsi bottle at 80 ft it's definitely not "sniper grade" as FOX puts it

Alright fellas, I'm starting to figure this out. This is my first gun, so I'm still learning how to use it (more specifically, the hop up XD - - - Forgive me).

*Re-tested at 20 feet.*

Turns out, with the hop up all the way off, my shots would hit 2-3 cm below the target. With it on and perfectly adjusted, My spread would not go over a quarter centimetre. I am very pleased as I am using the stock non-tightbore barrel, without barrel spacers.

Only problem: Javelin m24's ship with a missing screw!!!

-Believe it or not, these guns are shipped with a screw missing from the hop up assembly, causing the inconsistency in accuracy.



A user states "Just for LOLz, look at the missing slider bar screw in the above pictures out of the Echo-1 video. See that hole there where the slider bar is? That's a big culprit for accuracy problems in VSR-10s. There is supposed to be a wide head reinforcement screw there."

I for one have noticed this problem in the above test. Once dialed in, my hop up setting would be lost from vibration and displacement of the slider bar.

I need that screw!!! What were they thinking? They could have had a 10x better product if they added ONE MORE SCREW. BS. I'm going to see what I can do.. Also, Im going to install some diy barrel spacers. Stay tuned for another test.

Then, when my upgrade parts come in, look out for another test to compare!

When doing your testing and what not you are going to want more then the 20 foot target you are doing now.

Not only will you need to adjust the hop up for longer distance but at 20 feet it's like doing tests on a pistol
