I listened to the comentary track on dvd. At least some were blank firing. You may have noticed that for a while during the second gulf war the characters on the show switched back to mp5's and m249's. During the war the supply of 5.7mm p90 rnds war so low the U.S. government wanted to buy the blanks from the show so they could be reloaded as live rounds. I forget what all departments use them, Boarder control and a few others at least.

Why would the US want that ammo? What gun uses it?

Just the p90 and one FN pistol use that particular bullet. There are several govt departments ( immigration ie Border enforcement ) that i know for sure. One read an article in a firearm magazine on the p90 that listed a few others but that was a few years ago and i don't remember which other ones. The problem with the ammo supply is that there was a shortage available in US at that time. 5.7mm is not manufactured under licence in north america as not many groups use it. All ammo for it have to be purchased from Belgium ( FN ). With the war FN stoped the export of 5.7mm ammo for a time, likely to build up a small stockpile for themselves. War = caution. :borg:

I found it really annoying that one person after another turned out to be a Cylon. May as well have gotten M. Night Shyamala to direct the show. The twist ending would be that the Colonials are actually all Cylons and that humans died out decades ago but they forgot they were Cylons.

This thread may of been posted a while ago. But if i ever get the equpiment i need for airsoft. I would LOVE to join with a Stargate theme. Love the show. Atlantis is by far my favorite. If it's Stargate i'm so there.

It's funny, but when they were still filming the original SG1 series, some of the crew (not cast) came down to LA (it's owned by MGM Studios) for some training. They joined me that Saturday at an airsoft skrimish. It's sort of like Stargate was playing airsoft. Well, at least the IT guys that is. The Disney guys also came with us, so it was really like Stargate and Alias playing airsoft.
