TM mechbox into a G&G GR16
I was wondering if it's possible to fit a TM mechbox into a G&G GR16 and if there's a special procedure in doing so?
Thanks |

Since G&G are TM clones, I think it might be a 95% perfect fit, maybe and probably someone on here tried it and will reply soon, but as I said, G&G are TM clones.

you may have a couple small issues like getting the body pins to line up. the rear one will not go in for me so I just left it out.
the other thing that might cause a problem could be the position of the mag release. if it doesn't fit, just try a different one. I put a JG box in CA M4 body and the CA mag release wouldn't fit right. mags could not be inserted or released properly. I threw in a stock TM one and it was fine. |

mag release is quite a large hole. That part should be fine. I think the worse bits probably are the center pin and the rear pin.

the TM release pin is thinner and make up for the misalignment. Now I don't know how the GG's QC is but it's possible to not fit. if the body is metal, you don't need the rear pin. plastic body needs both so you'd be SOL. the only way to fix this is to remove all the internals and re-drill the body pin holes in the mechbox so that they will line up. Front pin will always line up as it's not dependent on the mechbox position to fit. |
