1911 grips
I am looking for one of those double-diamond checkered real rosewood grips for my WA LAPD SWAT Custom II, like the R/S version shown here http://www.kimberamerica.com/product...stom/royal_II/
Does anyone know where I can get one of these and if it would fit or not? (R/S or not) Thanks! |

you can find rosewood double
diamond 1911 grips on eBay any day of the week. Those are generic 1911 grips, nothing Kimber specific about them. But I'm sure Kimber sells them as well. Most big sites selling airsoft like UNC also sell an array of grips. Go on Canadian Gun Nutz forum, you'll find them in the parts for sale area. Gotta be the easiest grips to find.. didn't I see you already ask this question in another thread? Edit: Yes most of the time RS grips will fit TM's and WA's in stock form.

Thanks aznpos I will pm Illusion, and yes safx I have made a thread about the exact topic recently, but for some reason I can't find that thread anymore.
Are these grips all supposed to be the same size? I mean there might be small size and shape differences according to which will fit my gun and which won't. But I've seen some grips labeled as "slim" version, so I'm not sure what that means. I checked most of the big airsoft sites, but unfortunately none of them have the rosewood double-diamond checkered ones I'm looking for. CGN has locks on their threads. I found one on sale here http://www.eaglegrips.com/guns/Rosew...kered-224.html, but I'm still unsure if that will fit. And for some reason the grips in that picture look smaller than usual...might be just the picture. Safx I remember you saying you have a fair collection of WA GBBs. Did you ever order one of these grips yourself? Thanks for the help, guys. |

Tisk tisk, seems one of us is going
to have to hand-hold you, or else we'll be drowning in your repeat threads in no time! There are a bazillion 1911's out there, and some are slightly off spec from a Colt 1911 frame. For the most part Kimber and Colt grips are interchageable. Slim grips are thinner, so they don't bulge out as much, also no room to dig a space for a grip weight. All my stock WA could use RS wood grips, since WA's are copies of exact models. So what's made for a real Kimber will fit your toy Kimber. Metal kits are another issue though.. The ones in your link should work. Just avoid Officer style, they are for compact frames. Just a quick search on ebay— http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-1911-45-Aut...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/COLT-1911-WALNUT...#ht_635wt_1167 http://cgi.ebay.com/1911-CUSTOM-Kill...#ht_642wt_1167 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-Factory-191...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/1911-COCOBOLO-WO...#ht_720wt_1167 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-1911-Africa...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-1911-Africa...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-1911-Govt-R...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-1911-Govt-R...#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/Colt-Govt-1911-R...#ht_500wt_1182

Thanks for the input safx! I will be more careful about repeating topics in the future hehe...I just thought maybe it was deleted by a mod because I placed it in the wrong section or something.
I've seen most of these ebay items floating around while looking for those grips, but I think I mentioned in my other (oops) thread, that I've had horror experiences with ebay and so try to stay away from them lol... I think I will give that discounted item a try. Thanks for all your inputs guys! Last edited by wind953; November 16th, 2009 at 18:24.. Reason: spelling |
