BB ejection
Ok, newb question.
do a GBB(or an AEG) gun will eject the BB in the chamber if you pull the slide like on a real gun? like if I have a mag in the gun and it is loaded... and I want to unload it... I remove the mag, and then rock the slide to eject the BB in the chamber... Do that work like on a real gun? also if it doesn't, and there is a BB in the chamber, and I pull the slide. What will happen? would the gun try to chamber a second BB in the chamber? could this damage the gun? thanks! |

The BB does not enter the Chamber like a real Gun. It stays in the magazine until fired. When pulling the cocking handle...nothing is ejected either.

It won't eject like a real round but it may fall out when you pull back the slide and give it a shake. For AEG's, no such luck you pretty much have to fire it with no mag in to clear the chamber

To safe and clear an airsoft gun, remove the magazine, and fire 3 times in semi in a safe direction.
BB's can still be in the hop-up chamber and still loaded in the barrel. |

Think about it, in a real firearm, the bullet has a rim which is grabbed by the ejector claw. Pull back the slide/bolt and the round/casing is ejected. On a BB................ what is there to be able to grab onto? If you pull the mag on a GBB and there is a BB in the chamber, the gun is basically unloaded simply because you have removed the propellant part of the system. Be the same as removing the case/powder/primer on a real bullet leaving the bullet itself in the barrel. AEG is as mentioned above, except you can make the gun the same condition as the GBB with mag removed by removing the battery.

On a GBB, it DOES enter the chamber like on a real pistol. But there's no extractor, so when you pull back the slide, the BB stays in there. Sometimes you can get it to fall out by turning the gun on it's side or upside down, and racking the slide a few times to dislodge it. |

YouTube- Western Arms (WA) M4 cqb-r blowback and RAP4 M4 with shell ejection
this is an interesting concept. It's a GBB M4 with a rap4 shell ejection mod.

I don't see any casings coming out of the WA...just the RAP4 gun.

He's showing TWO guns not ONE gun and the RAP4 is pretty lame...the shells are annoying and ugly

I can see the fascination of ejecting shells for realism but it's completely impractical for airsoft. unless the shells were as cheap as a BB, I can't imagine wanting to field something like that. forget pissing off your team with shells flying at them in addition to the BB's down range.

IMPORTANT SAFETY MESSAGE
When you rack the slide on an Gas Blow Back pistol one BB is loaded into the chamber. If you then remove the magazine the pistol will not fire as you have removed the propellant. The projectile however will still be in the chamber. In most cases racking the slide and shaking etc. will clear the pistol, but I have have a few models that need the projectile pushed out with a cleaning rod. If you re-insert a magazine in that is loaded and charged with gas and re-cock the slide you'll chamber a second projectile possibly causing a jam in the barrel. If you put the charged and loaded magazine in and don't cock the slide but pull the trigger and drop the hammer or release the striker you will fire the projectile in the chamber. For AEGs BBs can also be held in the loading tube. A shake and a couple quick taps in semi will clear the chamber and also release the spring tension in the gearbox. Quote:
