Stock TM gas guns are recommended to be used with HFC134a which is pretty much the air duster cans used to clean computers. Use the search function at the top and you will find the answer to most of your questions.
About full black guns (again this has been discussed to death, there are a plethora of threads on this matter) its illegal to import, but no law about owning one. There are laws against the sale or trade but are almost not enforced as long as you are a responsible airsofter. Do not brandish the guns in public, do not play in public areas, pretty much use some common sense and you have nothing to worry about. 95% of all law enforcement officers I have talked to about this matter have said they would not act on anyone with an airsoft gun as long as its used in a responsible manner. If you use it like a dumbass they will not hesitate to shoot you, and no cop wants that on their mind. The other 5% didn't really know what airsoft is beyond the wal-mart crap. Once you are Age Verified you will have access to the classifieds and retailers on this site that can get you full black full metal guns. |

HFC 134 is the stuff used in Duster gas (not anymore). The stuff you want is tetrafluoroethane. However most companies that make duster gas for the consumer market use Difluoroethane.
Don't worry about using duster or propane just get some propane. A lot of people don't even upgrade their slides and run propane fine (however this creates more wear and you'll eventually have to replace the slide). Slides are not a restricted part, it's actually the frame that's restricted on pistols so yeah.

okay. another question:
someone said in this topic not to get a GBB or GBBR (gas blow back and gas blow back... racing??? lol) cause you can only use it in summer... why is that? I love realism... and I love the fact that the slide blow back and lock like a real gun... no? What would I need for winter play? electrics? So I could get a good AEG assault rifle for all year long use, and my sweet handguns as backup guns for summer? I really love glocks and 1911s... I will get my license for realy rirearms someday, and I will get one of each for sure! I really love those handguns. also, from 007airsoft again, KJW's glock shoots at 290 fps and their 1911 shoots at 330... their AEG assault rifles shoot at 360. why would 290 and 330 fps be unusable outside? it is fast enough, isn't it? also, it is in fact just a backup weapon! I wouldn't rely on that all the time!!! |

GBB's and GBBR's can't be used in the winter because the gas is to cold to allow proper function. Also Gas guns are in general Higher maitence compared to and AEG. A stock BNIB AEG only requires a good battery a good charger and good bb's. |

GBBR is a Gas Blow Back RIFLE
GBB is a Gas Blow Back GBBR's are not advised because they usually shoots too hot out of the box and velocities are dependant on ambient temperature (hot summer day vs moderately warm day). I believe you can change the velocity however it requires taking apart the GBBR and not recommended for a newbie to be in there. In addition getting a GBB pistol right off the bat isn't really the best idea, first you need your basic gear and a good rifle after that a pistol as a backup should be your second concern. If you have all the money needed to drop on gear and stuff right now then get it all but it's better to slowly enter the sport with some basic gear (good quality boots, BDU's, mask/goggles, some sort of ammo/gear carrier) and a rifle. As that takes up a lot of money I'd doubt you have a lot of money left over for a GBB so you'll likely have to wait for your next paycheque. EDIT: As for not playing in the winter, AEG's take a lot more stress on the internals and parts are likely to break if it's too cold (especially V2 mechboxes). For GBB's and GBBR's coupled with the cold and "cooldown effect" (Highschool physics stuff basically since it's under pressure when you release the pressure (liquid propane turns into gas) and this takes energy the mag gets cooled down) the effects of cooldown is loss of velocities, and more stress placed on the internals (because of the cold stress placed on the metal internals)

And the lube is mandatory regardless. The purpose of that is to keep your seals in your mag intact. The reason some guns are recommended to be used with HFC143a is because they have plastic slides. The higher pressure of propane might crack the slide from repeated use. HFC134a has lower pressure thus results in lower FPS as well as lower wear and tear on the plastic slides. Don't be afraid of the search button at the top though... |

okay. thanks guys. I'll get an AEG, but I'll probably have a BGG pistol sometimes for when I play inside, just cause I love them!!!
