I'd say, when you have your primary kit completed and nothing else to buy (that never happen), it's good to invest on a backup/spair weapon in case your primary stop working during a game. It sux driving 4h to a game, to have your weapon crap after only 1h of play.

A good side arm (pistol) is good, but only to get you out of trouble or for confined space battle. I don't concider it as a spair weapon.

Myself, I only have a spair sniper rifle (2 rifles). I'd like to have a spair AEG. Maybe in a few years when my salary will allow to update my kits and spend a little extra on other weapons.

Likewise.

I always have my bone-stock TM MP5 as a backup. It doesn't shoot appreciably far compared to my upgraded gun, but I know it will fire a round (or three) every single time I pull the trigger.

I use an upgraded KJW Hi Capa for backup and a Clearsoft shotty as my backup's backup.

Works great =)

There goes my (small) Airsoft Canada reputation.
