Magpul PTS PMAG 120R - metal?

The whole idea of the PMAG is that its NOT made of metal. The real steel ones are made of polymer. P(olymer)MAG. Im not sure if the PTS lines use the same grade polymer as the RS ones, but their are def. not metal.

Hmm, I see. This is neat, So what would be better? A metal normal lookin midcap or this 120R fella?

Also, is it a mag you need to feed via a quickloader, etc. Or is it a wind up? Dislike them wind ups.

120R means one hundred and twenty rounds. That would be classified as a midcap. AFAIK only hi-caps (200+rounds) use that wind up mech.

Green label is plastic, PYS 120r is low grade polymer, RS is high grade.

Ah well, bought one of them, according to the email i received it is "High Density grade polymer, like the real ones"

Oh man.. you reminded me of that vid you posted on youtube. The pmag actually cracked.

Pmags from magpul PTS are polymer while the ones that are 75 round/10 rounds from star are ABS i believe. Pmags will do the job better than any other plastic mags out there. Feeding is great.

120rd PTS ones actually do feed way better than Green Label ones as most users have said.

I still can't believe Mr. Hitman drove his car over his Airsoft PTS PMAG. That was hilarious.

PTS is not the same polymer as real steel and real steel ones used in those car tests have rounds or dummies inside to reinforce them. The inside of a PTS PMAG is cheap hollow ABS. Still, PTS PMAGs are my favorite magazines for AEGs

every video i have seen with these "drive over" test of the RS Pmag was done with them unloaded and empty. even a normal STANG mag would hold out to being run over when fully loaded. the whole reason for the run over test is to test the side walls of the mag. on the STANG and HK mags tested, the tack-weld seams brake and split. the Pmag just flexes a bit and the outer surface gets scratched, but thats generally it.
doing the same test on the PTS Pmag will just shatter them, they are not made from the same polymer and the profile of the mag walls are not the same.

There are two types of "official" PTS PMAGs:

"Green Label" - varies in capacity
&
120 Round

The 120 Round version is the "true" official PTS PMAG, is the best quality PMAG, and the shell is closest to real steel.

The Green Label product is far inferior, in terms of build quality, material, reliability, and even the colour hue is off. Note: It is still sold as an official Magpul PTS item. The only real way to differentiate the mags is by the capacity. The 120 round PMAG is the only "true" quality PMAG.

The Star one is even worse.

No, the PTS mags are nowhere near the same polymer as real PMAGs.
