Tracer Units?
I would like some info on tracer units. I really know very little about them or how they work so if anyone would like to brief me that would be great.
I found a few links, i always thought they went inside or in mags...not external like a silencer. Any advice on buying one? Cheers!!! http://albertaairsoft.com/store/cate...id_category=56

If you've got an AR variant, get a Madbull hopup with integrated tracer unit, that's the best solution.

Don't use tracer mags as the light will be decreased by the shooting interval.
my suggestion is a tracer silencer |

They work by using a strobe to illuminate a special type of glow BB.
Get a silencer type, they are the best. |

I don't know of anyone who's posted a reveiw of the Madbull light in the hopup rig yet. Most folks I know aren't fans of the mags.
The nice thing about the version that attaches to the end of the muzzle is that you can swap it across a few weapons. They add to the experience if you play in a dark area.

echo 1 makes a nice silencer type. metal body plastic insert. takes 4x aaa. glow bb's are about $25 for 2000 but most people will mix a 4:1 ratio. this is the only occasion i prefure a hicap. put bbs in and give a good shake. no reason u cant do low caps though. put 2-3 as the last shots so u can tell when to reload.
also the silencer tracer has a bad tendacy of giving u away via the strobe.... expecially when no one else has one. echo 1 tracer can be had for $75. |

I have an Echo 1 tracer unit purchased from Jeff at Capital Arms. PM him and he can give you the information that you're looking for...
They are fun as hell and the strobe effect of the bb's flying thru it is insane! Getting shot at it is awesome too; the "muzzle flash" completes the whole night game experience. The unit itself uses a light gate to activate the strobe much like a camera flash for each bb passed thru it. I leave my tracer on my M4 as it has an off/on switch so there's no need to find it when you need it. |

I also sell the SRC tracers with built in rechargeble batteries, and a charger!
I know, it's not on my website, but $ 100. Taiwanese made. Ken |

As far as attaching them is it like the suppressor threading? Someone said they can fit many different guns...i wanted it for a CA M16. But if i could change it to other weapons that would be sweet. Also price range i saw was around 70-80$ can, that about standard?

it's exactly like a silencer -ve threading @ 14mm. so it'll work on any outer barrel with -ve 14mm threads. Keep in mind the ir photoelectric diodes, that the silencer type uses, do drain a fair bit of juice. If you forget to turn off the tracer your batteries will be drained by morning. Forget sisposable batteries, be sure to buy rechargeables.

ken are those metal? If so $100 for rechargable is a hell of a deal. I woulda gotten that instead of my echo 1! I have put about 8 AAA through mine and only 1000 rounds... so yah they are bad on batteries.

I have one of the "new version" marui ones...very fun to play with...totally gives ur position away though! I like using them esp to adjust hop up (easier for me to follow my shots...i always have difficulty doing that...bad eyes!)
Its good as long as you can mount it! (I have it on my SR16...my g36c couldn't 't use it unless i get an extension and my SCAR has the opposite thread so I needed an adapter for that one too hah). If you get one that uses AAA batteries...pull the batteries out or remember to turn it off...the units are hogs when it comes to energy consumption. |

Can the external suppressor units be imported?
