Army Armament 1911 MEU Vs. KJW 1911 MEU

Hey,

I'm looking into getting a pistol and I fell for the look of the 1911 MEU. So I've narrowed my choices to the Army Armament and KJW.

Ok, the ARMY gun is full metal, in great shape and as far as i know TM compatible. The KJW is cansoft with the tinted plastic receiver, and metal slide.

Both guns are within the same price range.

If I could get some insight on any negative aspects of either of these guns, durability, excessive rattle ect. that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Mike

I would go with the ARMY as it is full metal and is very reliable. However the KJW is realy good as well. The choice is yours,do you want cansoft or airsoft?

Also note that the KJW has an integrated rail in the frame, and that may not be compatible with all holsters (specifically molded holsters).

I personally have an ARMY MEU and I love it. I've had the loading nozzle break within 500 rnds, but I've changed it (a 20$ Airsoft Surgeon kit that includes the nozzle, a recoil spring, and a piston head) and it works like a charm.

Personally, one thing I love with the ARMY MEU, apart for the Full Metal godness, is the trades that are really realistic, while the KJW barely has any.

Hmm, so army pistols are OK? I've been looking to get an ARMY .45 detonics to play around with.

I love those little things.

yes with slight modifications you can have a cheap, hard hitting, and reliable pistol.

Do you have any experience with these or something?

neither are ideal.

If you can, get a TM 1911/2011

KJW's are great if you know how to maintain them. The biggest issue with KJW is leaking mags because of the valve design allows you to overfill a mag which overpressurizes it and the o-rings are circular and not square and prone to drying out.

im with thenooblord on this one, ive had one KJW gun and it broke within coming out of the box....

personally i say go with the new WE 1911s, the old ones were horrible but their newer generations are a hell of a lot better ( including their meu ). or a tm meu

I would never recommend a WE over a KJW.

nobody mentioned it... but I was told that the ARMY is fully TM compatible, which is cool.

I agree with Styrak. Get the TM compatible ones, a WE doesn't take half the parts for TM 1911's out there (though some of the parts are Hi Capa compatible - its sort of trial and error).

Personally, I'm looking into the Army MEU right now due to the bit about railed frames not fitting in moulded holsters (from Conker's msg). The full metal (and not too shabby metal from what I've read), TM-compatible, full black MEU seems like the better choice for the same amount of money, IMO.
