belt for a vest with no attachments

So, I need a belt to hold a drop-leg holster and a magazine pouch. Problem is, the vest I got (Hong Kong SDU Level 3) has no belt attachments at the bottom:

I was thinking belt must be attached to the bottom of the vest to be secured. In this case, I can only imagine attaching the holster at the side where the waist straps are, but that'll sit too high. Or can I somehow attach a belt to this vest? Thanks

For that there's no way to really attach the belt to the vest. What you can do is buy a basic duty belt and attach subloads (holster on strong side and mag pouch thigh rig on opposite side) and wear the belt around your waist like a normal belt.

OR you can do the same thing with a battle belt...just depends how low your vest hangs and if it's comfortable.

Or get a solid belt with a low profile suspender system to wear UNDER the vest. That way if you want to dump the vest to play light (such as pistol only skirmishes) you can still have your sidearm and mags attached to you. Is what I run.

so Lerch, the belt wouldn't be attached to anything other than the subloads?

Don't attach a belt to a vest for the use of a drop leg.

You'll regret it as soon as you start to move around.

This,

I have a few mag pouches and my dump pouch, as well as my drop-leg hanging off a battle belt with suspenders underneath my plate carrier. If its a hot day, I skip the plate carrier and still have a viable rig.

I wear mind snug around the hips and free from the chest rig. Like Stalker said, you can get some suspenders though, which would let you wear the belt lower without worrying about it dropping too low

Because, having one's balls drop too low is always an issue when the feces hits the oscillatory air movement device. Lol

I'd also think of a better vest.

What if it's a molle vest like this:

Can a belt be attached to the molle sections?

Don't attach the belt to the vest. Ever.

With a nice battle belt you can run it on it's own depending on how much you want to hang off it. If you want to run a lot of loaded pouches then get suspenders also. Wear your vest/plate carrier/etc. over the suspenders

+1 on not attaching the belt to the vest
and +1 on not attaching the vest to a belt to a dropleg
You want to keep your gear free of itself so it doesn't try to twist you around!

And all I have to say is HORRAY FOR MOLLE BELTS. They make molle belt covers with holes under each hip specifically for mounting subloads. I call it a belt cover because it's not really a belt if you have to buy a belt to put in it lol

Belt "cover" or blast/battle belt (all in one)? Which ones do you like better?
