Sure it can. However, 6mm paintballs are, in a word, crap. They're 99% more likely to break in your gun and/or in the magazine, causing all kinds of issues, than they are to actually leave the barrel.

There's a reason noone uses them.

like kalnaren said you can try but chances are they will break in the gun/mag. simple solution if you want to shoot paint at someone is play paintball. I can't think of a single place that will allow the use of paint BB's anyways.

Use 0.36g BBs, you'll not only hear the hit, you'll also see a BIG reaction from the guys you shoot, like "WTF just hit me, a rock?!?"

the sniper has about 480 fps and i use .28 gram bbs but i find that they start to lose distance cuz of the wierght and then going form .28's to .35s is a big jump and a huge loss of fps
any ideas on upgrades for it then?

The problem is the FPS, not the BB weight. If the gun is actually shooting at 480 on 0.2g BB's, there is no way a BB is stabilizing in flight with a stock barrel and hop-up. I'm willing to bet you'd see greatly increased performance if you downgraded the spring and replaced the barrel and hop-up.

Heavier BB's are more accurate. Lighter ones may go farther, but they're so light that a squirrel's fart or a slight breeze will knock them off course. So with heavier rounds you'll decrease your overall range, but increase your effective range.

Also, when you're talking about distance, how "far" are you talking about?

Sure............. aim higher! Best "upgrade" anyone can do to get more range.

Lol, seriously, my 0.36g BBs out of my M24 fly at around 300fps, but I can get a straight 130-140ft out of them before they start to drop. But by adjusting my aim like any good markman would do, I can get past 200ft without having to aim 50ft above guy's heads. I might have to aim 3-4ft above a guy's head, but hey, such is the way of airsoft BBs. Don't think you can get a good 300ft straight and level flightpath from your BB (ok, sometimes you can, I had my rifle at 340fps with 0.20g once, and with 0.30g BBs was getting them out to 300ft, but that's all hop up trickery with medium heavy BBs).

Now, here's the question, what distance do you lose your shot?

BTW, as far as BB Bastards go, there is no fps loss between 0.28g and 0.30g, but there is a gain in effective range.

im just saying in general that cuz the bb is heavier it starts falling earlier .. therofore u adjust the hop up witch fixes the problem
so maybe im adjusting my scope and my hop up wrong for the weight of the bb's
ill give the .35's a shot and see if im satisfied with the results

thx for the help

Only to a point. The weight that separates maximum range with earlier droppage lies in between 0.30g and 0.36g BBs. 0.30g Bbs fly an easy 150ft (before veering off) in my Canadian Tire shotgun. Haven't tried 0.36g yet but am sure I'll lose about 20ft of effective range (and gain a crapload in brush penetration) if I don't compensate with elevation. Really, airsoft snipering is really about learning the way projectiles react in air, and learning to shoot well. My skills with a sniper rifle have transistioned over to shooting real steel, 1" groups at 150 yards with a .308 bolt action are do-able for me because I spent so much shooting groups with my M24 at 30ft in my basement. Everything is about technique and making things repeatable with the cheek weld, how you hold the gun, breathing, etc.

For the well... I'd recommend you get a very soft and fluffy piece of cloth, turn the hop-up on a very very tiny bit, and then carefully and thoroughly clean the barrel, make sure it doesn't damage the rubber, and wipe that disgusting crap off.

You should start a tally and a list of names for every single person that quotes you.

And at the end of the year, you can rightfully brag about your way with words. Lol
