Magpul M4 MOD1

Finally done damnit, and this deserves it's own thread lol
My M203 always made me feel bad, sitting in it's box downstairs all the time... Sat too low on the CASV's rails, finally got around to mounting it so it looks good. Horray for CNC machines!
I'll get a pic of it with the NVD on it tomorrow morning

soooo whats on it?
Magpul UBR stock
MAgpul MOE grip
Magpul receiver
KA mag release (G&P mag release's screw almost stripped)
King arms CASV-M
modded G&P M203
modded G&P M4 outer barrel
G&P aimpoint with QD mount
G&P 600m rear sight
KA an/peq-15
G&P T9 flashlight with 200 lumen bulb (ask Shogun how annoying it is at night )
ThunderCustom silencer
and I remembered to put the bolt catch back on this time!

Whats in it...
systema magnum motor (that underwent a BADLY needed tune up)
prometheus 6.03 barrel
firefly hop rubber
prometheus hop chamber
G&P 7mm mechbox shell (hopefully changing to systema shell soon)
systema silent head set + air nozzle
prometheus piston, double torque up gears, anti reversal, spring guide, ms110 and cylinder
KA trigger
Trigger Master MOSFET
9.6v 1500mah NIMH or 7.4v 1600mah LiPo

If this rifle were any more epic, I'd have to name it Jonas Jr

Very nice Frank! The only thing I kind of don't like is how low that aimpoint sits.

I'm big on cantilever mounts myself, but the CASV raises the aimpoint over the sights so i gotta use a low mount

If you use the high mount on a CASV you get next to no cheek weld to see the dot...

I think CASV is meant to use with normal M203 mount instead of rail though, since the lower can be removed...

M203 = very bad on CASV. It doesn't happen with the real ones, the lower portion is too flimsy.

I don't see a gas block or gas tube in there.

Otherwise, interesting build.

hence the removable lower, most of the 2-piece RAS with a removable lower were made to install a M203 it it's normal installation...

the CASV IS meant to use a barrel mount M203, which is impossible to mount due to the silencer and barreel mod (it's like having a CQB barrel)

I was planning on putting a custom gas block in but there's really no point

The M203 is bolted directly onto the lower guard, mounting it closer reduces the forces on it because its made of shitty pot metal just like everything else in China. A little worried about it breaking, but even if the tabs at the back break, it's not difficult to rig one of these together

And my magnum was overheating like crazy, if I shot off 30 rounds in semi real quick my triggermaster would give me an overheat warning and the grip was just radiating heat. Figured the active braking was just going nuts on a magnum. Anyway with all the troubles I hear about them on the airsoftmechanics forums I decided to send it in to a local RC enthusiast to get it tuned.
Sent it in with my G&P M140
Before tuning, both motors were run at 8v
G&P 140 - drew 4.5A
Magnum - drew 7A
After tuning the magnum was drawing 5.5A, cant recall what the M140 was drawing, somewhere around 3A i think

Nice build. But I just can't get into the UBR stock.

I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like it - but it just looks funny to me.

Great work though. Cheers man!

haha to be honest, I don't like it either, I much prefer the look of the CTR.

Thanks for the info on the magnum!

actually I'm not such a huge fan of the UBR myself LOL
But the CTR looks really empty and small on the rear end, I needed to beef it up a bit
It probably wouldn't look bad with a DE M16A2 stock
I looked up stocks on ehobby... what the crap is this thing??
