confused about g&g
I like the g&g rk47, but I have no idea what the fps is. I was originally under the idea that g&g had to limit their guns to 320 fps, like TM, but every site says something different; what is it!?

um... FPS doesn't really matter, as long as it's sub 400 (mainstream outdoor field limit)

G&G is based out of Taiwan.
Stock FPS can vary, but most seems to chrono around the 350-370 mark.

edit: wait why would anyone upgrade your gun to fire at 600 fps if that was the case!? Last edited by no username; October 12th, 2009 at 01:06.. |

I have been wondering, why would a longer barrel change anything? I was on the fence between the mp5 sd and the ak47, I am confused about barrel lengths, if the mp5 would be just as accurate I might switch to it.

what he means is that it's one of your last concerns in performance.
360 is fine. I recommend .25 or .28s |

My G&G has a downgraded spring, as i use it for CQB occasionally so it shoots like 330. I still use it for outdoors with .25s and my range is surprisingly good.

The majority of review state that the rk47 chronos in at about 360 with a 0.2g.
The use of a 0.25g bb would only drop the FPS down to approximately 320ish fps, which is still more than reasonable. With the correct hopup settings a 0.25g bb could travel a fairly decent distance, compared to the use of a 0.28g bb which would drop the FPS down to somewhere along the 300 mark, which in my opinion is still a decent velocity. Coupled with a good hopup setting it should still achieve a fairly decent distance. I personally would not go any higher in BB weight than 0.25g or 0.28g in the stock rk47.

its in the mail. Still using a standard bore for now, although if you have one of the higher end G&Gs, they come stock with tight bores

will the mp5 sd be as accurate as the rk47? I don't have a degree in physics I am not sure about how barrel length affects accuracy, I like the mp5 better, but I want the best accuracy possible
