Tracer unit or mag

What's better? A tracer unit or mag and where is the best place to buy them?

Jugglez at Airsoftparts.ca is awesome.

There's another thread here somewhere (search tracer or tracer unit)...from not too long ago.

General concensus:
Tracer Mag
Pros
- don't have a longer gun
- you can choose to shoot tracers or not
Cons
- not as bright as a suppressor style since illuminated BBs sitting in the hopup waiting to be shot will start to fade.
- you may need more than one tracer mag

Suppressor Style
Pro
- bright
- removable
- works
Con
- makes your gun longer
- flashes with every shot...tracer or not

Personally, I think the suppressor style is better.

Suppressor style is by far the best.

And, well, I may be a little biased, but here is the best place to buy:

Jeff, how's the brightness compared to the new TM version?

I'll also say that I believe the supressor version is a better choice.

Tys, not to mention you can use it on any gun with a threaded barrel; the mag is gun-specific.

i've got a JG,Echo1, and both old and new versions of TM and i'd say they all light up the same brand of tracer the same. I've also purchased a g&p mag tracer from ehobby. the pressure switch is near the feed so when you insert the mag the u.v. is always on whether you want it or not(unless re wired for an external switch) At least with the silencer type you can choose to manually turn off the tracer when you don't want it.

Used both and the tracer mag is not as good.
plus I only have 1 mag so reloads are needed.

I now have a TM Tracer Silencer unit and love it... M4 shoots wicked fast and well every shot is illuminated even on full auto

and the shots are brighter

get the Tracer silencer you will be happy
