Hyperstealth - Preorder Shenanigans
I did a forum search with the keyword "Hyperstealth", and I found a few discussions about their SpecAm series but nothing too recent so I figured I might as well run this by you guys.
I ordered a complete uniform set of Spec4ce (series 2) camouflage more than 2 years ago. Since then, I have been checking the website frequently for updates. I've sent emails and received nothing more than a verbose "wait out" and unfulfilled promise dates. They have been posting dates on their order page and have repeatedly failed and revised their information. To be blunt, I want to know what exactly is going on. Has anybody else placed orders with Hyperstealth? In particular, Spec4ce Series 2 uniforms? I want to know if anybody else received definitive answers or any products at all from them. My course of action at this point is giving them an ultimatum to deliver a product or deliver a refund & apology. |

My recommendation is just to get the refund and run; don't bother trying to get an appology (really, what is it going to matter).
I have not ordered from Hyperstealth, but I've been warned away from them by multiple people (some in the Industry, some end-users, and some others). Although, strangely, they have a bit of a contract to review Cadpat and what a possible replacement would be like, I've never found anyone who has actually been able to purchase their fabric (let alone finished products). If you're looking for some 'unsual' camo, look up Mirage or Pencott. Stay away from Felix, a search here will show you issues. Oborous |

I waited year before canceling my preorder with them. I believe they're legit, but they couldn't meet the demand and over committed.

I emailed hyperstealth the other day and I got a reply back from Guy Cramer. He told me something to the tune of: "The ANA selected spec4ce for their new uniform evaluation so we're waiting for a decision from them before we do anything. I can give you a refund if you want."
Are you serious? 2 years of waiting and I have to prompt them before I find this out? I don't even get a "sorry buds, I didn't know it was going to take this long." He posted in April of this year that the entire series is sold out; so I'm not the only one subjected to what I can only describe as fraudulent neglect. These uniforms are not cheap, and I wonder how many other people paid this guy thinking they would receive a product. I obviously sent a reply asking for my money back. |

Guy Cramer sent me my refund via paypal. Of course, I don't get back the fees paypal charged, but I'm going to take my money and run.
If anybody else currently has an account in the Hyperstealth Interest-Free Bank of Fraud, withdraw your funds right now. Eff them and their clumsy website. |

I looked at those patterns, and said wow pretty cool, and made in BC.
I looked at the "Q-Ray bracelet negative ion overthruster" insert in the collar and said you have got to be joking. Case closed.

I'm editting my previous post becuase I typed in a moment of anger and frustration about other things, and when I was still not fully functional after having had the flu.
To be fair, Hyperstealth have been probably distracted by work with the real-deal military - so the commercial side may have taken a back seat, plus they're also trying to do something really ambitious with all these different colourways - and having them produced in China. I also understand that a big part of the additional delay now is becuase a country in south-west Asia has adopted a colouration of the Spec4ce pattern for their Army, so now there are additional security concerns. On the other hand, a lot of people have got fed up with waiting for so long and cancelled their orders - Hyperstealth's policy is to provide a refund in full without quibbling though. They certainly acted promptly when I pulled my order. Its a shame - becuase their patterns are really cool. Last edited by maple-leaf; October 17th, 2009 at 15:26.. |

My team made an order around march of 2008 and we still haven't seen anything. We just decided to get the refund because he is never going to deliver anything.
Lesson learned I suppose
