multiple new questions
Hey guys, I'm new to airsoft coming from paintball experience so I'm not that much of a noob, but there are a few questions I would like to ask?
1: any good suggestions on a multi shot shotgun to buy? 2: I have a Complete Outer Plate Carrier Vest and I'm wondering if i should spend the money on plates or make my own? 3: I live in Petawawa and is there a field nearby? |

your not AV'd so a Crossman multishot is great, total TM clone apperantly, I believe its called the "s34p"
you can get replica plates here: http://ascmart.ca/product_info.php?products_id=19 and you'll need someon local to that area to answer that last question hope this helped

Heres some advice for you: NEVER LISTEN TO ANYONE TELLING YOU TO GET A CROSSMAN
Now onto your questions, if you want a GOOD, REALIABLE multi-shot shotgun you can go one of two ways: spring or gas. Personally I run a Tokyo Marui M3 Super 90 and its a FANTASTIC fucking gun. Because its spring powered you get regular performance with each shot, little to no variation. The TM SPAS-12 is also a great gun, which is essentially the same as the M3 but in a SPAS body. If you wanna go gas then look at the Marushin M500 in 6mm. No shells to deal with as it holds about 42 shots in the magazine in a loader tube type system, and shoots either 3 or 5 shots (I cant quite remember right now). I have seen this gun get fielded great in CQB settings but due to it being a gas gun there are the headaches that come along from operating a gas gun. And come winter time, your restricted to only indoor play. The TM you can use in both indoor or outdoor settings, as I have plenty oftimes and got a bunch of kills with the bitch. And since its spring, you can also use it in the winter no problem. If you wanna know where you can get these kinda guns, then look into getting Age Verified. Theres a sticky in the Newbie Tank that explains it all for you. |

The S34P (the Crosman Tri Shot gun) is a TM M3 clone. It's the only Crosman that I suggest buying at all. Any other crosman gun is crap, pure and simple. I honestly say if you're not willing to spend at least $500 off the bat (for the most basic basic stuff) and another $400-500 in the next 3-4 months to get a basic loadout then this isn't the hobby for you (but that shouldn't be a problem since you come from a paintball background right?). Basic loadout is probably good quality hiking boots (you can get millitary boots if you want however I play with my hiking boots), gun, face mask, 2 midcaps and BDU's. After that you can get vests, holsters, more mags etc.
If you come from a stock class/pump action background then it might be easy to just jump in and play with a shotgun however at the same time it's like being a sniper since you're limited in rate of fire and such. Plates are heavy and expensive (something like $300 for expired ones and 500+ for new). I'd just get foam inserts if I were you. Heck I don't even run with plates of any sort on my vest (I'm not sure if my vest is actually supposed to support plates or not). I'm not sure of the area you live in since I'm basically on the other side of the country but you're close to Ottawa/Montreal aren't you? (Don't really know my Eastern Canadian geography too well but that should be your general area is it not?) There should be some fields/games happening if you're willing to make the trip but otherwise I really don't know. I really only know that place only because of the CFB but since there is a CFB I'm sure there's some RegF people that play who will split gas money to go to Ottawa or wherever games are. Also read the FAQ's and get AV'ed. At least you didn't ask a stupid newbie question that we get like every single day but read the FAQ's just to gather the information since there's a lot of information in there (it's like an information overload and it's a lot to read most questions should also be answered there too).

I'll tackle the game locations for him.
Sign up here, it's the website for the LZ, an amazing field that is about 20mins south (towards Ottawa) of Arnprior: http://www.lzottawa.ca/forums/index....aac032d2d0360d Also, there is the occasional game in Petawawa (every few months, one is coming up soon............ I'm not attending but can find out the info). Maybe you'd want to attend and check things out.
