VFC HK 416 good starter gun?
hey guys im just starting to get into the sport of airsoft and have been browsing the site reading alot and learning quite a bit. i have indeed read Skladfin's thread on the newbie guide. i have taken into consideration all of his pointers and tips and was wondering if the VFC HK 416 was a reasonable starter gun. the reason why i ask is because i am a big fan of the actuall rifle and would love to mil sim with one. any ways post away. but go easy on the flamming im not wearing my fireproof shorts. this is a link for its internals http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ER-VFC-HK416-10.htm

Great gun, you'll be $400 lighter and gunless with the possibility of a fine if you order from outside canada though.
Get age verified and see what's on the classifieds. |

Assuming you read the FAQs, it's one of the nicer guns to start with, but they are rarely available because they are discontinued, and you are probably looking at least $1000 for just the gun if a supplier can get it in.

the vfc 416 dx was my first aeg purchase, it's pure sex! awesome ROF on it stock but if you have some regard for $ I'd strongly suggest looking at one of the jg 416's from what I've read they shoot hard so will need a downgraded spring but you wont be running around the field thinking I just put down 1000 bones for an AEG I don't want to scratch up :P

I'd get age verified and see what you can see on the classifieds. I had a pretty decent idea of what I wanted until I took a gander at what was available on there.

JG 416s are in abundance however. I have one of the first gens and it's great. they run for about $300-$400 in canada which isn't bad seeing as they are probably the best budget guns ever.

Pretty good, newest generation of JG 416 (only their 416 though) is full metal and the internals are all really nice (like high grade nice) also comes with a mosfet. I'm actually planning on buying one of the new ones myself.

Folks have been going off about the Dboys 416. I never really see much Dboys stuff in Canada though/ There's a Classic Army 416 coming too but that's getting a pretty lukecool response.

The VFC 416 is NOT a starter gun. It's an amazing gun that will cost you $700 (for American branded ones with fake trades) to $900 (actual VFC with realistic H&K trades).
That's because it is also amazingly rare. You rarely ever see them for sale. I have seen a total of 3 for sale in the classifieds over the past year. They have been discontinued for years. The newer JG 416 (because the most common ones are the old ones) are nice, but the metal body version sometimes has trades that aren't printed on straight or they are in the wrong position. The quality is nowhere near VFC but it's a great and perfect starter gun. The mechbox is preupgraded with ball bearings on one of the gears as well as a ball bearing spring guide and an m120 spring (400+ FPS out of box). It even has a factory mosfet and the choice of crane stock.
