Lumens...the Minimum?, (for CQB)

Hi!
I´m looking for a decent flashlight to attach to a G36C.

I know that spending 60$ I´ll get a very good one, but I would like to know what´s the decent minimum for CQB playing.

Thanks in advance!

JR

A Surefire 6V, 65 lumen light such as their G2 Nitrolon is a good one to start with. I belive this "incandescent" version is also around your price range.

My G&P M3 light is 65 lumens and plenty bright for CQB. My foregrip light on my MP5 is 80 lumens and even better. My G&P light on my C8 is 100 lumens and is very bright. Awesome light all around. Both my G&P lights were $60 or less.

Any light in a indoor CQB place will blind. Your eyes will get used to the low lighting, and then watch when you get shined with a small 50 lumen, you will be suprised. lol

Anything over 200 lumens will flood. Depending on the shape of the head, the smaller, the further it throws without a flood.

Get something off dealxtreme, their CREE LED lights are awesome.

defiantly get less than 200. You won't need any more than 100 for enough light. More than that it's only to seriously blind people which is not cool. They make the 200< lumen lights for military and LE to actually blind their targets without worrying about causing damage

Read the deal extreme product info. you may not be able to find tailcaps for your torch. Their torches are incredibly good for home / car / camping. rugged and cheap.

Another option is a 6P with a good cheap LED drop in module fro DX.
I'd be a bit weary about doing it with the G2 though since the modules can run pretty warm/hot.

For just a bit more, you'll find surefire rail mounted clones in the classifieds, though I can't see if you are AVed or not, damn mobile version of the site

A tactical light should not be bellow 60 lumens.
Most surefire are 60 lumens and above. Their competitors too.

Be carefull with knock off lights. They are rarely as powerfull as advertised. Some have blind spot in their beam, other are too yellow and dim.

You can get a decent surefire for under 60$. Like the G serie wich is very efficient.

I owned a G2 Nitrolon and now I got a E2D and a 6P LED Defender. I recommend them all. For airsoft, the 6P LED is great and fit in most laser or scope ring.

Save some BBs in the long run by getting this baby... WF501D, the 14v version. One shine and your opponent is stunned... Just walk up casually and do some tactical knife kills and brag about how you single handedly take down the whole opposing team without firing a shot.. LOL
