Which SnipeR?
I found these two guns at buyairsoft.ca and one is $100 cheaper than the other. I love the look of the more expensive one but for $100, i dont really care.
Can anyone tell my the difference between these guns? All i see is that the cheaper one doesnt have a bipod or extendable stock. So am i paying $100 for upgrades like that? http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=370 http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=138 |

Not a heck of a lot of difference. The VSR-10 probably has more aftermarket parts available. Personally I like the looks of the AIAW more than the VSR. The VSR is also probably a lighter rifle.
Neither is a steller performer and both require a lot of time and money to turn into really effective sniper platforms. I should also mention that if this is your first airsoft gun and you're actually planning on going to games, don't buy a sniper rifle. Sniping in airsoft is absolutly nothing like it is in movies or with real firearms. Stock, no sniper rifle really has any meaningful advantage over an AEG, and playing the role of a sniper (which should more accuretly be described as recon, not sniper) is very difficult, boring, and not action filled.

They're both a different brand, they both run off a different system.
The VSR-10 clone is absolute garbage, where the "ultimate sniper" is slightly less garbage. If this is your first gun, I would advise against it, Sniping in airsoft is nothing like it is in video games. I've been using a bolt action for 2 years, and I only started enjoying it when I sunk $1000 worth of upgrades into my gun. If you just want it to target shoot, get a pellet or a BB gun, they'll be much more accurate than an airsoft gun ever could be. You should get age-verified and browse the classified and retailer section here, the stuff you can find here is MUCH higher quality (and not that much more expensive) than the garbage you'll find on public websites. |

ya i dont think i would use one on the field but i wanted to get airsoft and not BB only because if i ever did decide to use it on field, than i could.

Well, since you're 14, this is a pretty moot point. You have no legal place to play and therefore shouldn't have airsoft guns at all.

They're also out of stock, and have been for quite some time.

True, at 14 you won't find anywhere to play. 90% of games are 18+, and the remaining 10% 16+; and there are very, very few exceptions to that.
Not only that, very few if any games allow a novice on the field with a high powered rifle. Best bet is to save your money, and then in 4 years dump a lot of it into a really awesome starting kit.

Yeah... you're probably better off getting someything like an Anschutz air rifle and shooting popcans in your backyard or whatever.
Air Rifle > Airsoft when you care about accuracy, and range. Say what you want about the Anschutz x00x rifles but I think they're sexy (if we're talking about ISSF shooting, otherwise they're ugly and useless for "practical shooting"). Buyairsoft hasn't restocked those in a while... Also you're going to have to sink A LOT of money into a sniper rifle to make it remotely field worthy. PLUS you're not allowed to play in a sniper role till you've proved yourself (for most clubs) and taken "sniper safety courses" (offered by some clubs to keep the game safe, you don't want a rifle shooting at 475 hitting you at < 30ft...). Point is. First get a platform that you can play as a DMR (eg. M14) and when you gain the trust of other players in the area pin it to single shot only and upgrade it to a sniper rifle. EDIT: The VSR is probably the one you should be looking at just because of the parts available for it. It's kind of like the AR15 or 1911, everyone makes accessories for them and parts are common everywhere (Check out some IPSC 1911's if you don't believe me).

VSR-10 Pros and Cons:
Pros: -light -hop-up easy to adjust -plenty of after market parts -Can be EASLY modded into a C3A1(CF sniper rifle), M700,or M40 Cons: -cheep feel -needs plenty of work (may need to put up to $1,000 into the gun to make it good) L96 Pros and Cons: Pros: -More weight tha VSR-10 (good and bad) -OK feel -bolt is awesome, much easer to slide back then VSR-10 -Overall look -Great for British loadout Cons: -Hop-up in horrible place -More weight than VSR-10 -few after market parts (that I know of) I shot both guns from buyairsoft.ca, both are good and bad in there own way. Its your own choice. EDIT: OR, go for an AEG! Im 14 aswell, and the sniper rifle was the DUMBEST idea to get ever. If you are looking for accuracy, than be prepaired to drop some serious cash. If you want OK accuracy, a good ROF, and to save a few hundred dollars, than an AEG is the way to go. But again, if you choose to blow $200.00-$400.00 + $600.00-$1000.00 for upgrades out the window on a sniper rifle, be my guest. Trust me, everyone here says an AEG is a GREAT beginners weapon. The Kraken AK-47 is great to start with. Great up-grade platform and you couldn't believe the shit people have put into thoes things.

I like the idea that underage kid give advice to another underage kid.
If you really want to be sniper, Don't get any both of those gun. Get something like M14, it would more effective than both gun and more range. Upgrade M14 has longer range than regular AR and AK. KND

Also, if you want a sick looking rifle, than the EBR (modded M-14) or the M4 SIR is the way to go. Both are AEG's (unless you use an M-14 and mod it), but cool as shit.
