how to build C3A1?
I'm considering making a C3A1 as my next project after I'm done my C7A1. Just wondering what rifle I should start with and what I would have to do to make a C3A1?

There's no direct airsoft replica of that rifle, but you could start with a VSR or M24.

What would I do from there?

Make it look like a C3A1

Couldn't tell you. Usually people have an idea what they want to do, or a reason for trying to mod a gun...

I just want it to look as close to a C3A1 as possible, even if it sacrifices its effectiveness and functionallity.

best bet would be to start off with a VSR-10, replace the stock with what looks like a mcmillan tac stock, new long lenth barrel with barrel crown, i believe redwolf carries most of the stuff you'll need, you jsut need to do the reserch on the exact parts and the closed airsoft equivilent.

Carrot made a C3A1 (McMillan A2) style stock, but it's long since discontinued. If you find one then that's awesome, but I personally think it's way more hardcore to mod the shit out of a real McMillan A2. And way more expensive.

And also way more illegal.

Is a McMillan A2 stock illegal to acquire?

Lol I already said it was expensive, but Styrak said it was illegal. I don't get what's illegal about buying a stock and chopping it to fit a VSR or APS.

Easier to find the original C3 wooden stock and mod it. (edit: these look to be about 60-100$ on canadiangunnutz)
http://www.snipercentral.com/c3a1.htm the scope might be tricky to find. (2nd edit: looks like the ZF69 will be in the 200-250$ range if you can find one, I didn't see a Unertl sale) Stuff like the slings and stock spacers are easy to find. Last edited by Tankdude; April 6th, 2009 at 18:58.. |

I think some of the shorter Mojii scopes might look kind of close. They might be too short though, I'm not sure because I haven't seen any pictures of them mounted.

I think he thought you were implying buying a rifle and converting it over, not just the stock.
