Silencers
Hey, I was looking around at some Silencers and I came across some "fake" silencers. I was basically just looking because i like the look of them and never really thought you could get real ones. But now after thinking (very briefly) i realized "duh of course they work" but my question is, How good do they work? Do they actually silence your gun to the point where someone will hear you break a stick b4 they hear your gun go off? If not, i might have to get these fake ones. aluminum for $12 and plastic for $5. not bad

a lot of players use silencers to hide an extended inner barrels. some actually change the sound of the shot but since most of the noise comes from the motor and gearbox, it's mostly for show.
it will not silence your gun as much as you are hoping. you will be louder than a stick breaking. My TM tracer unit muffles the sound on my AK somewhat but you can still hear it. |

Basically, the advantage of suppressor is just for show and hiding the longer barrel, it really won't silencer the sound so much at all because the noise is making from your mechbox and motor so it won't silencer. It could be silence if you are intend to upgrade to piston silent head or whatever available on the market.
By the way, Don't ever think to get a real one, it's illegal in Canada. KND

Suppressors don't do shit, unless you get a foam fill one, they will bring the sound down a bit.

ok well that seals it, but why are real ones illegal?

I've actually never seen a fake silencer that wasn't foam filled...
Real ones are illegal because the laws say they are... A real silencer wont work on your airsoft gun anyway. |

I've got a foam filled one for my gbb M92 and it does squat to suppress the sound, on an aeg the sound comes from the gearbox, so lining the receiver's inside with sound dampening materials would do alot more for reducing the sound rather than a silencer/suppressor which in airsoft is pointless unless being used to conceal a longer barrel or look kool

In Canada doesn't have law to restrict it, All suppressor in Canada mostly have foam fill in side. I never got one without foam.

i got one that is foam filled and it does reduce the soud very effectively, when you are behind the aeg it make a little difference but when you are in front of the aeg you nearly dont hear the mechbox all you hear is pufpufpufpuf
