G&G AK with CA SLR Parts?
Might be taking a G&G AK(RK) in a trade
soon, and I like to know if any CA steel SLR parts are compatible. Might also want the entire CA compact AK front swapped in. Any insight is appreciated.

I'm going to guess no. The G&G's that I've seen screw the front halves together with 4 allen head screws that go in from the top...can't recall if they're all like this, but 3 are short and 1 is longer. Also, if I recall correctly, the hopup unit is screwed to a block in the body half of the rifle...and not to the barrel half as with other rifles...again 2 allen screws.
Their front to back end fitment is typically extremely tight (i.e. purposefull taps with a mallet for stubborn ones) and they slide straight forward/backward to separate/reassemble...instead of the "pull/tilt and remove" of others (but I may be thinking of a "TM" style AK here). They're typically very nice...too bad it'll be worthless after you molest it! |
