The LRH (Long Range Handgun) Mk.II Mod 0

So, once upon a time a person suggested to me that handguns were inferior to rifles. At the time I agreed with him; statistically the handguns have half the barrel length and a quarter to half the capacity of a lowcap...

And so time went on. I bought an AEG, and after dismal failures and poor range, I found myself time after time reaching for my stock TM P226, and eventually got more kills with it than the AEG. And so I decided to find a way to make my handgun equal or better than a stock AEG.

And so the first LRHP (Long Range Handgun Project) was born.

Originally the gun consisted entirely of just a Hi-Capa 5.1 with a VSR-GSPEC barrel. Opting for a Nine-Ball SAS silencer compensator kit, it felt far too much like a space gun (enough so that putting a Vertical Grip made it feel NORMAL). So after searching online for components, the rebuild is complete:

I apologize for the poor quality of the images. The gun is also well used.

Contents:

Stock Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1
'Matrix' 14mm- Threaded Barrel Adaptor
King Arms Light Weight Slim Suppressor 150mm
Modified Tokyo Marui G-Spec Barrel
Firefly Soft Hopup Bucking
Tanio Koba (clone by Kwan Ju) Tactical 'Glip'

Results: It's honestly a lot more comfortable, but presents some unique issues. For one, it's very long, which makes cornering and quick reaction shots a bit harder to preform, but it's still faster than a rifle in my opinion. Secondly is a holster; I found the UTG "Universal" holster works best on a standard duty belt, it just takes a lot of practise to get it into and out of the holster easily.

I'm curious. What is the millimeter length of the barrel?

I do really like that build you've made. Aesthetically it's very pleasing. Makes the one-tone classic pistol look stylish again. I see a lot of race guns, but that one looks like something you could almost carry two on you at any one time and dual-wield the suckers. Very nice model you've made there

It's been cut down slightly, so it's around 270mm. I'm thinking for future upgrades to install a KM 6.04mm 303mm Tightbore and obtain a nice KA AAC .45ACP silencer to finish it all off.

That's a huge difference. TM Hi-Capas come 280-300ish stock.

Wow, my Hicapa has a 7 inch barrel and fires at 340ish, and your barrel is longer. Mine is a 6.03mm tightbore though...

I can get an easy 150ft using 0.28g BBs with my KSC Mk23 when I shoot it in "silent mode", custom packed suppressor on and hammer dropped, the slide doesn't cycle and is super accurate and can't be heard from 30ft away. Nothing special done to it since I was getting those ranges (was bone stock the) except I have a cut down stock TM AEG spring for a recoil spring, tighbore barrel and Airsoft Surgeon enhanced nozzle (does fuck all really).

If you took the main spring housing out and put a bb under the hammer spring (takes a minute or two)...it'd be interesting to see what it chronied at.

Or try .25's or 0.28's and chrony.

If you get a bit more gas going down the barrel before the blow back cycle starts...it's be lot better than some of the field rifles guys bring out to some of the games!

The power does seem a bit low though, since most of the IPSC tuned Hi-Capa with considerably shorter barrel can hit 330+ pretty comfortably.

Try maybe a precision VSR barrel?

Was thinking that. Normally most gas guns with this length barrel have abnormally high FPS's. But, I'm glad it shoots under 350, has enough oomph to work outdoors and is indoor legal

You could mount your lower rail on the frame and install a vertical bi-pod grip on it
That way you could have the manuverability and stability of 2 hands + a stablizer for prone shots.
You could also use a long strap attached to the MSH (if your grip has a lanyard loop); that way you wouldn't have to holster it.
Mount a scope to that sucker too while your at it.

LOL, just throwin my crazy ideas out there.
