Generally whatever part holds the serial number on its real steel component.

hmm, well on the AUG I think both the front gas block and bolt cover bare the serial number: in this case I guess its safe to assume that means the Stock assembly is the restricted part: or not?.

it's the metal receiver that has the serial number, but the stock being shaped as a pistol grip and used as a mag receiver might get stopped too.

At the end of the day, a CBSA agent can hold and stop anything and anyone he/she wants to. Even things that we "can" get through get stopped. Law is all about interpretation, among other varying factors. Whenever you order anything its a throw of the die. Maybe your number comes up, maybe it doesnt.

CBSA can stop whatever they want, then you can argue to get it back because it bears no serial number. Happened before, be polite and you might get it back (provided there's no serial number on it)

The restricted part of an AUG is the body/receiver. In this case, it's where the action of the weapon is contained, and that's the definition of a frame or receiver.
The barrel, slide and lower of my Glocks (real and airsoft) all contain a serial number, but the frame contains the action. Guess which part is controlled?
