TM M1911A1. Propane? Duster?
I'm getting a TM M1911A1 and was wondering what gas is best used for it. I've heard of people using many different things and thought i would ask here about peoples experiences with different gases.
Also, what is the effect of the higher gases on the ABS frame? Thanks. |

Propane, TM guns can handle it.

Propane on a TM 1911 is superb power
Propane on a TM MEU has a slightly better gas consistency |

well, im kinda old school so its a m1911a1 or bust... Have you had any problems with the slide on propane? I'd hate to break such a beautiful slide.

However, it's commonly accepted that almost all newer Tokyo Marui pistols perform fairly reliably with propane. There are very few problems for the first 5000 shots, at which point, the slide will eventually fail but replacement metal ones are easy to find.

Hi Capa 5.1 Stock plastic Slide, 13k rounds. Still no significant damage shooting propane. I do have 3 spare plastic slides

Propane. You should get thousands of shots before damaging the slide. And metal slides are easy to obtain (legal to import), not very expensive, and easy to install.

What would my other options be? I live in the states by the way. There arent too many airsoft specialty stores near me. I don't even know what kinda of duster to get or what it looks like.

You live in the States, you can order yourself a full metal kit for it.

I've used propane pretty much from day one in my TM M1911A1 and haven't had any problems. I figure that the slide will break sooner or later and when that happens I will switch it to metal.

So propane should run A-Ok on my full metal Marui 1911? I also have the high flow valve and guide spring installed. And cause I've never used normal propane, how much does it boost your gun in terms of FPS compared to green gas?
