Camera effect for post nuclear themed game
Been wanting to try out a new camera trick I stumbled upon for a post nuclear themed game. Here is a still shot example of the effect. I can also add in some geiger counter sounds at key points to add to the theme.
http://sounddogs.com/sound-effects/2...NDDOGS__ge.mp3 So keep an eye out for an upcoming video with the said effect . Most likely in a month or so! ( ps ) I can tone done the brightness of the effect as this is only an example. I will have a video demo avaialable soon. |

Green crush. Nice but you might want to push up the mid tones a bit.

A little too green IMO. But cool nonetheless.

Why would a picture look green after a nuclear strike?
IMO, it should be darker with over saturated colors. Purely esteticly speaking. To portray the gravity and darkness of the situation. Maybe a little like this.

I forgot to mention that its filmed during daylight but made to look like its portayed through night vision. The said effect is my dvd camcorder with a piece of a developed picture negative over the lens with nightshot turned on.

the green would work for ground zero to emphisis the nuclear fog, but i agree with fox ah high contrast or high saturation seems to suit the desired theme in my mind, kinda like the grainy look for ww2 era photos. or even a drained, stale color scheme.

lol wth... how does anyone know what its suppose to look like after a nuke went off?
WWII pics of Hiroshima after the bomb went off didn't show any differences even on black and white... |

Shhh Ronan.
Cinematographycally speaking only. Because when doing a movie or a photo, you have to be clear so the less intellectually adept can understand.

Exactly. Movies don't generally protray the world as it would actually look becasue it would either set the wrong tone or the lighting would be so horrid you would miss the point of the scene from all the squinting.
Kind of like the audio issue you get when someone mixes the sound wrong. You have to turn up the volume when the leads are talking then get fucking deafened when the bombs go off

I think the best portraying of a nuclear event was in COD 4
You could use this as refrence to try and get this colour (dark redish) |
