STAR Magpul PMAGS

Has anyone ordered these?
I am looking to buy the 72 rd midcaps, but not sure how well they perform.
And where can I buy a box set?

Yes 75rd economy box set, check WGC. The 120rd isn't available (yet?) in a box set and is a lot more expensive.

Works fine in my Star, but I've not yet tested them extensively.

I have a few of the 30rd ones. They are slightly bigger than stardard M4 mags. We tried them in a few of our teams guns and this is how they fit.

JG 416- So tight it won't fit all the way to the Mag catch.
JG M4- Fits fine no problems.
Custom M4 with C8 metal body from huang- Fits but it is very tight.

Hope this helps

I have a box of 10 STAR Magpul 75rnd P-Mags in black.

Straight out of the box, none of the mags would feed properly in my G&P / Systema C8 all metal M4.

After shaving the feeding lip on each mag (ie. same as KA mags), each mag now works flawlessly and have no problems. The mags are much lighter than my old King Arms metal mags and are slightly larger in size. I also have my P-Mags set-up with the Magpul P-Mag Ranger plates which help A LOT when removing mags from my chest mag pouches.

After the slight mod to the feeding lip, I highly recommend the STAR P-Mags.

Hope that helps. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks! I have a PMAG hicap from Huang and it feeds perfect..

So STAR is my choice. My lower is a TM plastic, so it should fit.

EDIT: Green label is a brand or what? And different than STAR?

Just required some modification to my magwell but they work in my 416 perfectly now. and i like it that they don't fall out as i don't need to worry about loosing them now if the mag release is accidentally pushed.

The Green line are liscenced to STAR by magpul. STAR makes the greenlines,

They are of lower quality than the 120 midcap PMAGS. The midcaps are made from the same stuff as the RS pmags right down to the same flaws at low temperatures, I dont know why they cost 25USD when a RS pmags costs in the neighborhood of 5 USD.

The greenline are clearly of a lower quality plastic, they are not polymer, they reflect more light than the midcaps.

I will be posting a couple pics of my STAR 75round Magpul P-Mags in black with Magpul P-Mag Ranger Plates in black so you can get a good idea how they look. I will also post a couple pics on how-to fix the feeding issues some people have with the STAR mags.

They are both Magpul liscenced products.

The 120 PMAG is 25 USD, ea. These are MIDCAPS and many milsims limit the number of midcaps you can carry to 1-2

The STARs are 60USD for box of 10. These are 75 rnd LOCAPS.

STAR also sells packs of 10 ranger plates for 15 dollars *i think*
Magpul Ranger plates are anywhere from 7 EA to $15 for 3.

King Arms 68round metal mag VS. STAR 75round Magpul P-Mag with Magpul P-Mag Ranger Plate:

I also took a pic of my modified mag feed-lip:

Close-up:
http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...aglipclose.jpg

And here is a little explanation on how to modify the feed-lip:
http://i347.photobucket.com/albums/p...g/feedlips.jpg

To do this modification, I used a sharp, fresh new x-acto-blade for each mag and sliced a small amount off the feed-lip, then did a test to see if the mag was feeding properly. If it was still not feeding well, I would slice a little more off the lip.
