Bore-Up Cylinder Set

Can I use the Systema Bore-Up Air Seal Nozzle for SIG 550/551 (ZS-04-30) on my SIG 552? I also just received my GWS SIG 556 Conversion Kit for my 552 along with a GWS Custom Sniper Outer Barrel for it and I want to install a PSG-1 650mm inner barrel in it. I remember reading somewhere on here that if I'm going to do that, that I'll need to use a bore-up cylinder set. Can I just get the Systema Bore-Up Cylinder Set for SIG 550 (ZA-03-09)?

the air seal nozzles won't match. If you can find a bore up air seal nozzle for 552, then you can get it to work.

Guarder has a bore-up cylinder set for the 552, but then I'm going to need a bore-up cylinder that isn't ported.

Also, didn't you say that the max inner barrel length that can be used with a full cylinder is 590mm?

Because it says 451-550mm at the WGC website???

If that's the case, then I'll just get the PSG-1 590mm inner barrel instead of spending more money on possibly 2 bore-up cylinder sets.

So then get that guarder set and find a bore up cylinder set that's unported. They are available individually, possibly by other manufacturers. You'll just have to look around.

Maybe the Guarder cylinder isn't designed with walls as thin as Systema... I don't know. I've never used the Guarder one, so I couldn't say. Where does it say it's 451-550mm?

I've successfully used full unported cylinders in plenty of 590mm guns with no difference in performance. Swapping in bore up cylinder sets also provided no difference.

Granted, all of these builds used tight bore inner barrels, which would require less air volume than a full 6.08mm bore.

WGC says that in their description for the Prometheus Stainless Hard Cylinder (A) here.

Did you say that I could also use a bore-up nozzle for the AUG on my SIG 552 or did I just imagine that?

Nevermind, I just found a Guarder Bore-Up Air Seal Nozzle that's sold separately at eHobby Asia.

The cheapest bore-up cylinder set I could find on eHobby Asia that has a non ported cylinder is the Systema Bore-Up Cylinder Set for M16A1/M16VN for $46.99 USD.

Can I use the cylinder, cylinder head and piston head from this set on my SIG 552?

Yes, you can. You'll just have to swap the nozzle.

Won't I need a version 3 cylinder head though?

I just remembered that the M16A1/M16VN have version 2 gearboxes.

Oh, right. Yes... you'll need a version 3 cylinder head. An AUG has the same cylinder type...

In the end, you may have to get multiple kits to merge parts. It's a better solution than mixing brands, you can't predict results with mixed brands.

Okay, what if I get the Guarder Bore-Up Air Seal Nozzle for SIG SG 552 and the Systema Bore-Up Cylinder Set for AK47/AK47S, would that work out?

I really want to get a Systema Bore-Up Cylinder set over the Guarder one, but if I can't mix the two together, then I might as well go with the full Guarder Bore-Up Cylinder Set for my SIG SG 552. But then I would have to find a Guarder Bore-Up Non Ported Cylinder.

No idea, never tried. How about you try it out and tell us?

If you're going to have to get two bore up sets just to get the right parts anyways... might as well do it with Systema.

Yeah that's what I want to do, but Systema doesn't have a bore-up air seal nozzle for the SIG SG 552. Unless you know of a compatible one that Systema has?

Well, if I do go with the Guarder nozzle and Systema cylinder set, what should I look out for when I test my gun to see if everything's all good?

The same things you would look for anytime. Proper air seal and FPS for the spring etc.
