Holster recommendation

Up until now, I've had a generic drop-leg holster that has comfortably held any of my pistols, although my main pistol is my Glock 17, and I've used it almost exclusively, and plan on continuing to do so. The only issue I encountered was that while playing indoors at the mill, I realized not having a tac light left me at a serious disadvantage in the pistol-only portion of the game. As a result, I ordered a G&P M3 tac light which looks and functions great. It's nice and bright and should serve me well at future games at the mill and at Border Wars.

However, as you can expect, the pistol no longer fits in the generic holster with the light installed. So as a result, I'm not looking for a holster specifically made for a Glock with a tac light, and am looking for recommentations.

I'm looking for something along the lines of the Safariland / Serpa in a drop leg form, but preferably also adaptable for hip or MOLLE use that will allow me to use the gun and light at the same time. I would love to hear what kind of recommendations you guys have based on experience with the different models available.

And of course, if any of you may have something for sale that would fit the bill, then please make an offer. I know this isn't the "wanted" section, but this post is more about looking for recommendations, so not really a wanted ad, but make any offers if you have something.

Nix SERPA for G17. They don't fit worth a shit, the G17 is too wide in the body for a real SERPA.

Safariland is the way to go.

I have 2 SERPAs (real) and 2 Safarilands (real) and they need a little TLC to make KSC Glocks fit them (I have 3 in various models).

go for a safriland hip holster.
Gcode's might be a cheaper alternative but I don't know about fitment.

You could spend many $$ finding just the right holster; genuine Safariland 6xxx series are really expensive, or, you could just keep the holster you have now and go with a separate clip-holster specifically designed to secure M3 style weapon lights:

Something like this Uncle Mike's Kydex M3 holster.

That way, you can run without light until you need it and it only takes a sec to retrieve from the duty belt and install on pistol rail.

I recently ditched the idea of drop-legs entirely. Belt all the way for me from now on - BladeTech kydex holster and mag holders on the belt (KWA G19).

Anyone have any experience with these? This seems to fit my needs nicely. Just want to know if anyone knows anything about this particular holster.

Should be OK with a Glock, but soft holsters are terrible for 1911/Hicappa or any gun with a protruding mag release. They lead to lost mags.

Also, soft holster with dual retention are useless for 1-handed re-holstering and quick draw. They retain fine, but limit you in the speed of removal. A good holster will allow for 1-handed re-holstering without having to bend over and look down at it, be secure for mag retention and allow for quick and easy draw.

I have had at least 4-5 soft holsters from DZ (Eagle cloned it as well), HSGI, and others and none have been satisfactory.

The other option is the Safariland 6305. Says that it will fit a Glock 17 with an M3 light....

Expensive, but if it works. Only issue is that I still won't have a holster to use with my other guns, but my Glock is my main pistol...

You can find the 6004/5 in Canada for about $150 or less.

Basically the same holster, without the QD option off the belt.

I agree whole heartedly. I was reluctant to spend the case on a folded kydex holster rather than an injection molded one, but once you go that direction, you never go back.

I went through tons of different universal holsters, and a couple of injection molded plastic ones, and I can tell you that I've never been happier with a holster than I have been with Blade-Tech. Tough, comfortable and the retention is awesome. Kydex is also much easier on the finish of firearms (and by extension our toys) than leather or cloth, which preserves the re-sale value of your pistol, and let's face it the average airsofter's attention span will fail before the gun does... and it makes a great add-on to a re-sale pistol if your new gun isn't going to be the same as your last.

As long as your GBB/AEP/NBB has a real steel equivalent and is on spec, you're good to go. I rock a P226 with an X300 in a drop leg with thumb break, but I have a belt holster for shooting RS IDPA and playing slick, as well as a holster for a 1911 Government if my Kimber ever goes out to play.

Where be that? I've looked at several places like Nicholls, Gordon Contract, Marstar, M.D. Charlton, Tetragon, etc. and all their prices are well north of $150.00 CAD for a 6004/Sig226 w/TLR-2. Any other vendor suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.
